Do The ‘Alaskan Bush People’ Live In Seattle?

The Alaskan Bush People are no strangers to controversy, including questions about their residency. Earlier this year, father Billy Brown and son Joshua “Bam Bam” Brown served 30-days on ankle monitors for lying about where they lived from 2009 to 2012. The Alaskan Bush People had another scare around the time their legal problems arose. Billy reportedly suffered some seizures and had to go to Seattle for treatment. While waiting to hear when the next season of ABP will start, some fans are wondering if the family will have to relocate to Seattle so he can continue treatment.

The Alaskan Bush People clan have been through a lot in the last several months, and much of their experiences supports the idea that they may actually live in Seattle. First there was the situation with the state of Alaska and the ABP family’s inability to prove that they spend most of the year in Alaska. In fact, when the family was ordered to appear before the Juneau judge on the charges, Alaska Dispatch News reported that instead, the Alaskan Bush People family called in from Seattle. In a statement to the court, Billy Brown admitted to leaving the state in 2009 and not returning until 2012. He spent that time in Seattle. Defense attorney James McGowan stated that Billy spent his time in Seattle trying to sell his book, One Wave at a Time, which chronicles his life from when he was a teenager to his current situation living in the bush of Alaska, the life depicted on Alaskan Bush People. That’s three years that the ABP star admitted to living in Seattle.

The Alaskan Bush People show on Discovery included some footage about some health problems faced by Billy Brown last year. They reported that the family would be travelling to Seattle to receive care for that condition. Radar Online spoke to him while he was in Seattle. The ABP father explained that several years ago, he slipped into a coma for unknown reasons, and soon after, he began having seizures. The cause of those seizures has also never been determined. When he requires treatment or testing, Billy and the rest of the Alaskan Bush People clan travel to Seattle.

Billy isn’t the only member of the Alaskan Bush People family with medical issues that keep them from staying in Alaska. ABP mother Ami Brown revealed months ago that she is dealing with a spinal disorder that requires medical attention in Seattle as well. Doctors have suggested that she undergo surgery to correct the condition, but so far she has chosen to alter her lifestyle instead.

There have also been recent developments in the lives of Alaskan Bush People sons Matt and Joshua that may provide additional reasons for the family living in Seattle. Matt Brown has admitted to a struggle with alcohol abuse. The Alaskan Bush People show spent some time on the issue last season, including showing Matt leaving the ABP family for some time in rehab. Some fans have indicated that time away from the family and from the surroundings of Alaska, where he stated his problem began, could do him some good. Life in Seattle could give him an opportunity for a fresh start.

Then there is the latest Alaskan Bush People romance. ABP son Joshua Brown has apparently fallen in love with show producer Allison Kagan. In recent weeks, photos of the two together in New York have appeared on social media confirming the relationship. Alaskan Bush People fans have wondered how Discovery would deal with the relationship. Would their relationship get in the way of filming ABP? How would the couple get some space to enjoy and grow in their relationship? Life in Seattle could do that. It would get them away from the spotlight that’s on them when they are in Alaska and give the time to just be together.

Many questions are being asked ahead of the new season of Alaskan Bush People. Many developments in the lives of multiple ABP family members lend credence to the theory that the Brown family is living in Seattle. Add to that the fact that Billy Brown has stated that he lived in Seattle from 2009 to 2012, and the likelihood of the Alaskan Bush People clan living there increases even more.
