Located in the United Arab Emirates, Dubai is the place to find the “world’s largest fill in the blank.” Anything that can be built will be built larger here. Next Wednesday, we can add “indoor theme park” to the list. IMG Worlds of Adventure theme park will open its doors and welcome guests to four different themed areas: Lost Valley – Dinosaur Adventure, Cartoon Network, Marvel, and IMG Boulevard. Spanning 1.5 million square feet, IMG Worlds of Adventure can hold up to 30,000 guests a day and developers are hoping to see 4.5 million visitors within the park’s first year.
Lost Valley is home to 69 moving and “breathing” dinosaurs lead by Barosaurus who stands over 52 feet tall. According to Hindustan Times, it took IGM five years to bring the large critters to life. Each is built with a thin layer of shiny silicone rubber to help bring the illusion to life. You’ll find the Velociraptor roller coaster in Lost Valley as well. This crazy coaster features four loops (the largest one spans 105 feet) and reaches speed over 62 MPH. For those not quite ready for dino-sized thrills, they will enjoy the Dino Carousel that features friendlier versions of dinosaurs for little ones to ride on.
The Haunted Hotel features a maze of hallways and numerous ghoulish ghost awaiting your arrival. It is said to be so scary, that only those who are age 15 or older are allowed in.
Perhaps the biggest buzz in Dubai right now is the excitement brewing for the new Marvel section featuring the Avengers Battle of Ultron ride where guests join Iron-Man, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Captain America, and the Hulk battle Ultron together. Then there’s the Spider-Man Doc Ock’s Revenge where fans will swing through the city with Spidy. The Hulk Epsilon Base 3D is a cinema dome 3D movie that will put guest next to the Hulk and battle foes in a 360-degree adventure. The Thor Thunder Spin will literally keep guests glued to their seats while battling not only the laws of gravity but also Thor’s evil brother, Loki. Finally, the Marvel-themed land features Avengers Flight of the Quinjets, where two guests ride at a time for a race of a lifetime.
The Cartoon Network area of the park includes Ben 10 5D Hero Time which sounds like another 3D film but with extra sensory additions to add to the experience. The Powerpuff Girls Mojo Jojo’s Robot Rampage will send guest to help the super trio in the skies to battle the evil robot before it’s time for them to turn in for bed. Then there’s Adventure Time – The Ride of OOO with Finn & Jake where visitors will meet the Ice King, a bunch of princesses, and many other Adventure Time characters. Finally, there is The Amazing Ride of Gumball where Gumball and Darwin’s school science project gets out of hand and guests are asked to help zap the various objects that have come to life and threaten the town of Elmore.

In addition to all of the four themed areas, IMG Worlds of Adventure features a live LazyTown show based on the Nick Jr. TV series and a dozen new theaters will be built soon offering “Novo 7-star comfort” and 3D IMAX technology.
While IMG Worlds of Adventure basks in the limelight, it will not be the only theme park in town. Motiongate Dubai is set to open in October and will feature attractions and rides based on popular movie franchises including The Hunger Games, Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar, Shrek, and Ghostbusters. Bollywood Parks, a Six Flags park, is also set to open late in 2019 featuring 27 rides and attractions (six of them being roller coasters) and four aerial attractions. When these three parks are added to Legoland Dubai, the area will be known as the largest integrated theme park destination. Of course.
