Demi Moore Gets Set To ‘Rock That Body’ After Her ABC Snub

Demi Moore may still be a notable name, but she doesn’t quite draw the numbers she once did, so it’s understandable that ABC wasn’t nearly as upset at losing her for their Ten Days in the Valley series as Demi might have expected.

It wasn’t a devastating loss for either party and it seems both ABC and Ms. Moore have moved on from the incident, though Ten Days in the Valley producers may have the last laugh, considering the even bigger, more relevant name they now have linked to the project. For Demi, she has something new too. Ms. Moore will Rock That Body with Scarlett Johansson.

Demi Moore Stirs Ridicule, When She Snubs ABC’s Ten Days In The Valley

When Demi Moore initially signed on to do Ten Days in the Valley, it had originally been set to be distributed on one of the premium cable networks, but there was a shuffle and it ended up on ABC. Page Six reveals that Moore was overly bothered by the change in fans, suggesting that network television was beneath her and expressing the idea that cable and even streaming services were “more prominent” than an ABC series.

Demi’s words were soon spread among the television community and Page Six says insiders had a good laugh at Ms. Moore’s expense. It is understandable. Demi Moore may have missed it, but television has gone through a revolution in the past decade and continues to evolve into something entirely new. In fact, while Demi is scoffing at ABC’s offer, many celebrities are eager to latch onto a successful new series.

One such celebrity happy to be attached to a compelling new television drama is Kyra Sedgwick. She has since taken Moore’s place on Ten Days in the Valley.

“The fact is that no one cares about Demi, and Kyra is a bigger star, so [ABC] jumped at the opportunity to work with her,” a source scoffed. “I mean, who’s really dying for streaming?”

Rock That Booty Drafts Demi Moore To Play Against Scarlett Johansson

Entertainment Weekly shares the news that Moore has now signed on to star in the R-rated comedy Rock That Body. She will play opposite Johansson and Kate McKinnon in the film. Rock That Body tells the story of a group of women celebrating a bachelorette weekend in a Miami beach house, when things get a little too wild. Jillian Bell (22 Jump Street), Ilana Glazer (Broad City), and Zoë Kravitz (Mad Max: Fury Road) are also confirmed to star in Rock That Body.

Demi Moore’s strength has always been tapped to its fullest potential in her more dramatic roles, films like A Few Good Men (1992) and Ghost (1990), while her comedic endeavors have been less impressive. That may change with Moore attaching herself to an ensemble cast of younger actresses able to draw in a larger demographic, as she has done with Rock That Body. A big hit would do wonders for Demi’s Hollywood reputation, which has been in decline in recent years, but, more importantly, a big box office draw would expose Ms. Moore to younger generations of potential fans.

While she may be hoping that Rock That Body will give her career a much needed jumpstart, Demi does have a few reasons to glow outside of the spotlight. One such reason celebrated her 28th birthday on Tuesday and, as Rumer Willis prepared to blow out those candles, Entertainment Tonight reveals she thanked Demi Moore in her own unique way.

“Shoutout to my gorgeous mother for cooking me for 9months and welcoming me into the world 28yrs ago today,” Rumer captioned an Instagram picture of herself as an infant, held up by a startled-looking Demi Moore.

“Thank you for showing me what a beautiful, strong, kind, intelligent and magical woman looks like and giving me the best role model a daughter could ask for,” Rumer continued. “I love you with all my heart mama. I am so proud to have the honor of being your first baby.”

Rock That Body is scheduled for a June 23, 2017 theatrical release.
