Mick Jagger Assures Pregnant Ballerina Five-Figure Monthly Support Despite Their ‘Casual’ Relationship
Earlier this year, it was revealed that Mick Jagger will father a child for the eighth time. The woman carrying the 72-year-old’s child is American ballerina Melanie Hamrick, 29. The Rolling Stones singer previously made it clear that they are not in a serious relationship. Nonetheless, he vowed to support the child with a five-figure sum each month.
Preparations are reportedly underway as Hamrick will give birth in December. Jagger’s romance with the American Ballet Theatre dancer allegedly started after the suicide of his partner L’Wren Scott in 2014. As reported by the Telegraph, Jagger loved the arrangement between him and the ballerina.
“Mick likes the arrangement they have and doesn’t want to be in another formal relationship. But the most important thing is how much he loves his children and he has great relations with them.”
Hamrick will reportedly give up her dancing career to prepare for the child.
“The plan is for Melanie to move out of New York and be based in LA, where Mick spends a lot of time, or Connecticut where she knows people. In reality Melanie was coming toward the end of her career as a ballet dancer but has now had to give it up even earlier than planned.”
The Mirror details that Jagger “has always taken his responsibilities seriously” especially when it comes to his children.
“They’re not in a serious relationship but they’re both happy and remain very close. This gives Melanie and the baby the assurances they need. She’ll get a substantial allowance and Mick will pay for housing wherever Melanie decides is best.”
After finding out that they’re going to have a baby, the couple was surprised, but Hamrick isn’t worried for she knows “what a great relationship Mick has with all of his children.” The news reportedly does not faze Jagger who has been “incredibly supportive.”
It is believed that Hamrick will receive up to $15,000 each month until the child reaches 18.
In 1999, Jagger also made a similar deal with Luciana Gimenez. He was still with girlfriend Jerry Hall when his love child with the Brazilian television presenter was conceived.
Jagger’s firstborn is Karis, his daughter with songstress Marsha Hunt. Karis is now 45. Unbeknownst to many, Jagger’s first child should have been with singer Marianne Faithfull. She left her husband to be with Jagger. She got pregnant, but in 1968 she miscarried at seven months.
The performer then fathered four children with Hall – Elizabeth, James, Georgia, and Gabriel. They tied the knot in Bali only to find out that the union was not lawful. His affair with Gimenez, which resulted in his youngest child Lucas, followed.
Gimenez previously opened up to the Daily Record about Jagger’s parenting style. She said that despite the singer’s wealth, he is careful not to spoil his children, believing that having too much could cause a lot of trouble.
“From the bottom of my heart, he’s a wonderful dad. I have no complaints. Mick and I believe you’ve got to give them love and steer them in the right direction. It’s more important than anything material. Parenthood doesn’t come with a manual and happiness is from within.”
Hall echoed Gimenez’s claims. She said that living under the spotlight was tough, but they tried to give their children a normal life filled with lots of family holidays. The model also revealed that all of the children are very close.
