2016 MTV VMAs: How To Live Stream, Who’s Performing, Who’s Presenting & Everything Else You Need To Know

The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) are ready to take over New York’s Madison Square Garden on August 28, and pretty much anyone who’s anyone in the music world is set to attend the iconic MTV event.

When is it?
The 2016 MTV VMAs is set to air live from Madison Square Garden in New York August 28 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

How can I watch?
The entire VMAs will be airing live on MTV, while fans can also live stream the entire show via MTV.com.

MTV will also be airing an hour long pre-show segment, set to be hosted by Snapchat legend DJ Khaled, Charlamagne Tha God and Lizzo from 8 p.m. ET/PT on both MTV and MTV.com.

Who’s presenting?
The 2016 VMAs presenters list boasts a number of A-list names.

Revelist revealed the full list of presenters earlier this week, confirming that Kim Kardashian, Diddy, Alicia Keys, Ansel Elgort, Bebe Rexha, Fifth Harmony, Jaden Smith, Rita Ora, Shameik Moore and Tove Lo will all be handing out VMAs to the big winners on the night.

Who’s performing?
The VMAs really know how to put on a great show. The performance list for the 2016 MTV VMAs reads like a who’s who of everyone who’s huge in music right now, and it looks set to be pretty explosive.

Britney Spears – Britney will be performing on the VMAs’ stage for the first time in almost a decade. After performing a medley of hits at the Billboard Music Awards earlier this year, Spears confirmed she will be treating fans to the first ever televised performance of her latest single “Make Me…” alongside her collaborator, rapper G-Eazy, at this year’s VMAs.

Spears has teased a nostalgic performance across social media, posting a video of a snake slithering around her dressing room and bypassing a number of props from her past iconic VMAs performances, including her wedding gear from her 2003 “Like A Virgin” collaboration with Madonna and Christina Aguilera.

Kanye West – Kanye West will also be performing at the 2016 VMAs, and insiders are teasing that the rapper is planning something pretty explosive.

According to TMZ, West has been given four minutes of stage during the music award show “to do with as he pleases” and even noted that even the VMAs’ producers “are totally clueless” as to what West is going to do.

Future – Rapper Future will also be performing at the 2016 VMAs according to Billboard, though he’s also keeping what he plans on performing a secret for now.

Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj – Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj will be treating fans to a world premiere at the VMAs this year, as Grande revealed on Instagram that the twosome would be debuting their new duet “Side To Side.”

Ariana teased the news on the social media site, posting a video of her VMAs performance tease alongside the caption “#SideToSide #VMAs @nickiminaj @mtv.”

Nick Jonas – According to MTV, Nick Jonas will be performing his new single “Bacon” with Ty Dolla $ign on the streets of New York City during the VMAs telecast.

Rihanna – Us Weekly revealed that Rihanna will perform a “medley of hits” during the two-hour 2016 MTV VMAs telecast, during which she’ll also be honored with the Vanguard Award.

Beyonce – Though MTV and the VMAs haven’t confirmed the reports, Quartz is reporting that rumors have been swirling that Beyonce could also make a surprise performance at this year’s big VMAs.

Who will win?
While fans will have to wait until the VMAs air on August 28 to find out which music superstars go home the big winners, MTV previously announced that Rihanna will be taking home a prestigious award on the night.

The network revealed earlier this month that Rihanna will be bestowed the legendary music award show’s highest honor, the “Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award,” which is set to honor her “decade-long impact on music, pop culture, fashion, film and philanthropy.”
