Adam Brody And Leighton Meester’s Baby Arlo Loves Morning Hikes: ‘Chasing The Kid Is Pretty Hard!’

Adam Brody and Leighton Meester’s baby, Arlo Day, turned one this month and her parents truly can’t get enough of her. In an interview with People magazine, the O.C. alumnus opened up about his “ritual” with his firstborn.

“I do a nice morning hike with my daughter. That’s always a treat. It’s something to do in the wee hours of the morning when she’s up. It’s a good activity for both of us.”

The 36-year-old finds it delightful to watch the sunrise with Arlo, although it’s difficult now to keep up with her because Brody recently got injured while surfing.

“Chasing the kid is pretty hard! It’s put a big monkey wrench in that,” he quipped.

Meester’s other half also revealed his penchant for building stuff for his daughter. Some of his projects include a slide and a rocking chair.

Since the two are used to keeping their marriage under wraps, spectators found it refreshing to see the couple at the premiere of Brody’s new series, StartUp. Their last red carpet appearance was in 2014 at the Tony Awards.

Meester previously told Instyle that her priorities have shifted after marrying Brody.

“My values have shifted greatly in terms of what I find important. It’s my family, my friends, and having a personal life. Those are the things that need nurturing.”

Meester and Brody were first introduced in 2011 on the set of The Oranges. They then worked together in 2014 for the comedy flick Life Partners. That same year, the two tied the knot in a secret ceremony in Northern California.

Brody clearly enjoys being married to the Monte Carlo actress. In an Ask Me Anything session hosted by Reddit, he revealed that he would love to have 12 kids. When asked how the couple manages their home, he gave credit to his wife.

“I do some stuff but she definitely does the heavy lifting(figuratively). Literally, I do the heavy lifting,” he gushed.

Prior to giving birth to baby Arlo, Meester, who is best known for her role as Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl, already hinted to Nylon magazine that she fancied the thought of being a mother.

“Most people I know are starting to get married. It’ll be kids next. I like the grown up stuff. I like having a house. I’ve got dogs.”

She also said that when the famed CW series ended in December 2012, she had the desire to “do things that were exciting and challenging” – things that an adult would do.

That desire might be the reason why she is not so enthusiastic to reprise her role as Upper East Side’s princess. The Roommate star merely said “nope” when asked about the possible Gossip Girl reunion. Blake Lively, on the other hand, loved the idea according to E! Online.

“I don’t know, it would be fun. We had such a great time doing that that I think we would all enjoy that.”

As per the same publication, Sebastian Stan would love to reunite as well with Manhattan’s fictional elite characters. Stan gave life to the character of Carter Baizen, who courted both Blair and Serena Van der Woodsen in the show.

“It was a great experience…I will always have a soft spot in my heart for that show and everybody that was on it. It was fun. I feel like we all grew up together, so yeah, I would do it!”

Stan also dated Meester in real life. The two went out for two years before parting ways in 2010. Some speculated that Meester’s released single, “Heartstrings,” was about the breakup although the pair remained friends after.
