Did Steve Bannon, Donald Trump’s Campaign Chief, Commit Fraud By Registering To Vote At Vacant Florida Home? [Video]

According to reports, not only does Donald Trump’s campaign chief, Steve Bannon, not live at the address listed on his active Florida voter registration, the property has been empty for months now and is slated for demolition.

As The Guardian reports, Steve Bannon, Donald Trump’s new campaign chief, did rent the now-vacant home at some point. However, neighbors and others allege that he never, ever lived at the address in question. Rather, he reportedly rented the home, in Miami-Dade county for his now-ex-wife, Diane Clohesy. She reportedly moved out of the house in question earlier in 2016.

Neighbors of the property appear to substantiate The Guardian’s claims that Trump campaign chairman Stephen Bannon doesn’t live at the location. In fact, the house’s owner, Luis Guevara, told the media in an interview that the property is abandoned and set to be demolished.

“I have emptied the property. Nobody lives there … we are going to make a construction there.”

According to Florida election laws, voters are required to be residents of both the state and the county where they intend to vote. Florida law is very clear that a legal residence, for voter registration purposes, is “where a person mentally intends to make his or her permanent residence.” Anyone who willfully submits false information on a Florida voter registration form is guilty of a third-degree felony and could potentially face years in prison.

While Donald Trump campaign chairman Steve Bannon hasn’t been charged with violating Florida election laws, the allegations levied against him are disturbing. Particularly considering that Donald Trump and his campaign have made fighting voter fraud a cornerstone talking point. Donald Trump has even gone so far as to recruit so-called “election observers,” reports Politico. Donald Trump has recently stated that he believes that “have the sheriffs and the police chiefs and everybody watching” polling locations to prevent voter fraud. He even asked his supporters help him make sure that polling locations are properly watched over in November.

The Donald Trump position on potential voter fraud has been so crystal clear and so consistent, it’s almost mind-boggling that neither Donald Trump, nor the Trump campaign, has spoken out in detail about the allegations that Steve Bannon may be using the address of a vacant home on his Florida voter registration, especially considering that the home’s owner told the media that the home has been vacant for months and rental records reportedly indicate that Steve Bannon never lived there at all.

Indeed, neither Steve Bannon, his ex-wife, nor the Trump campaign has been willing to answer detailed questions regarding Bannon’s Florida residency or his registration to vote in the upcoming 2016 general election. Donald Trump campaign spokesman Jason Miller did, reportedly, vaguely address the situation posed by the address listed on Steve Bannon’s Florida voter registration.

“Mr. Bannon moved to another location in Florida.”

However, in Florida, voter registration doesn’t work that way. You can’t simply move from one address to the other without updating your voter registration. Voters must physically reside at the address that matches their voter registration in order to legally vote in the state. Something that Bannon, who is also the executive chairman of Breitbart News, should (by all accounts) know.

After all, the right-wing news website has alleged rampant voter fraud in the United States, repeatedly claiming that minorities and those who reside in Democratic regions of the nation frequently engage in voter fraud to “rig” and otherwise sway presidential and other elections.

According to an investigation conducted by The Guardian, at least three different neighbors told them that the house that matches Steve Bannon’s Florida voter registration has been abandoned for at least three months; the publication further alleges that a visual inspection of the address uncovered missing windows and an appearance of being vacant.

The Guardian reports that Steve Bannon, Donald Trump’s campaign chairman, while refusing to directly comment on the voter registration address scandal, has changed his voter registration address in Florida. Now, Steve Bannon is reportedly claiming residency at the home of Andy Badolato. According to The Guardian, Badolato is a reporter for Steve Bannon’s Breitbart News. The new address is reportedly the official voter registration address of Badolato and two adult children.

The new Florida residence of Steve Bannon is reportedly a single-family home in Sarasota County, and nobody in or around the Trump campaign, or Badolato himself, has been willing to comment as to whether or not Steve Bannon is actually residing at the address. Sarasota County, like Miami-Dade and the rest of Florida, requires that voters list their actual legal, physical residence on their Florida voter registration.

Failure to comply with the law, including willfully providing inaccurate information, can result in being charged with a felony and facing penalties including a cash fine of up to $5,000 and up to five years of incarceration.
