Chris Brown Premieres ‘Grass Ain’t Greener’ Music Video On Vevo, Calls It ‘Mental Freedom’

Chris Brown has finally released the official music video for his latest single, “Grass Ain’t Greener,” via Vevo on Friday after weeks of teasing behind-the-scenes photos from the video shoot on his Instagram and Twitter accounts.

Brown confirmed the video’s impending arrival to fans via Instagram late Thursday evening alongside a still frame from the project, instantly building excitement for fans who have been eagerly awaiting the video’s arrival since May.

The video kicks off with a brief introduction in which Chris Brown and friends can be seen making their way to a private party out “in the middle of nowhere,” prompting Brown’s friends to become agitated when they suspect that Chris is only interested in attending the party because he knows his ex-girlfriend will also be in attendance.

“Man, Chris…you always chasing a girl,” Brown’s friend begins, “now look at us, bro. Got us in the middle of nowhere.” While Brown initially tries to deny the accusations, the group ends up making their way to the private bash where they show off their impressive choreographed dance moves for vampire-inspired partygoers, Hot New Hip Hop reports.

Shortly after the “Grass Ain’t Greener” video’s midnight premiere, Chris Brown took to Instagram once more to gush over the “mental freedom” that he allowed himself while working on the project before noting that the video was all about “showmanship and entertainment.”

“I work 10x more then most of these artists. MENTAL FREEDOM AND NO INSECURE BOUNDARIES. PUSH YOURSELF!” Chris Brown began in his Instagram post alongside a brief clip from his video. “I respect the artist who really invest in themselves and care about showman ship and entertainment. Love *heart emoji*.”

Riveting Entertainment, who served as producers for the video and is currently working with Brown to complete his highly anticipated Welcome To My Life documentary, also gave the “Grass Ain’t Greener” video a shout-out on Instagram before revealing that Chris Brown served as the director for his own project.

The news comes just weeks after Chris Brown hinted that “Grass Ain’t Greener” would serve as the lead single off of his upcoming album, Lost & Found (Heartbreak On A Full Moon), although Chris hasn’t confirmed a tentative release date for the project as of yet.

In addition to working diligently on his next album, Brown also made headlines last week after fans began trending the hashtag, “#chrisbrownsb51,” on social media in order to drive conversation about Chris Brown serving as a potential halftime performer for Super Bowl 51 which will be held in Houston in 2017.

Brown took to Instagram to thank fans for their support in requesting him as a halftime performer for the event, revealing in a comment to The Shade Room that even if he isn’t selected as a performer for this year’s show, he’ll continue to work hard until he achieves his goal.

“I’m just thankful that people would request me as a performer for the SUPERBOWL,” Brown explained in his comment. “That’s a lot of pressure, Knowing that our media will find someway to have something negative to say about it and will not focus on the talent. I think im capable of putting on an amazing show. So IF it does happen, I’ll be honored and Humble. If it doesn’t, I’ll work hard until I get there.”

Chris Brown’s music video for “Grass Ain’t Greener” is currently available to stream on Vevo and is also available for purchase on iTunes.
