Jon Gosselin Fires Back, Following ‘Shocking’ Accusations Made By Kate And Kids

Things are getting messy for the Gosselin family, as accusations fly back and forth and the family’s children become the unwitting pawns in this battle between Kate Gosselin and ex-husband Jon. The family quarrels attracted national attention when it was revealed that Kate had enrolled son Collin in an away from home school program, specifically geared toward special needs children. Following that revelation, further accusations have been levied back and forth, throwing the Gosselin family into an all out feud, right in front of the media.

No One Is Happy With Jon Gosselin

In covering the Gosselin family’s troubles, People reveals that Jon Gosselin hasn’t been excelling in the parenting department, even after a divorce from Kate that divided the family in an unsettling and permanent way. The family gained attention when it was revealed that Kate enrolled her son Collin in a special needs program that will require him to stay in a boarding school environment, but, as the situation began to cast a greater light on the Gosselin children, it was revealed that Cara and Mady, Collin’s sisters, are also emotionally troubled.

“He doesn’t even know us,” says 15-year-old Mady Gosselin, speaking for twin sister Cara and brother Collin, as well as for herself. “He makes it seem like we’re being kept from him, which is insane.”

Mady suggests that Jon lacks the understanding of what it means to be a father, because he’s spending more time worrying about his public image than he spends worrying about his children. The Gosselin sibling says her father should do some serious soul searching and make a real effort to be a supportive and loving father, as opposed to trying to defend himself on reality television.

“She doesn’t want to join his game,” Kate Gosselin said of her daughter, adding that she feels proud of Mady for dealing with the situation on a mature level. “At that age, to be able to locate the high road and stay on it, that just blows me away.”

Jon Gosselin Is Shocked By His Family’s Accusations

Upon hearing of the criticism levied at him by his twin daughters, Jon Gosselin expressed to Entertainment Tonight that he felt undeserving of the harsh words and said that he has always tried to be a good father. While his marriage to Kate may have ended, Jon says it was never his intention to allow his relationship with his children to become strained.

“I’m very upset,” Jon Gosselin said. “I love my children very much. I’ve always been there for them and I always will be. It’s shocking.”

Meanwhile, Kate Gosselin goes further in expressing the impact the divorce has had on the entire family, explaining that she feels all of the parenting duties have been heaved upon her shoulders. Additionally, she says all of the children have been affected by the change in the Gosselin family dynamic.

“Collin has special needs,” the 41-year-old Kate Plus 8 star said in explaining the way Jon’s split from the family has affected their son. “[There’s] a fairly fluid diagnosis of what those needs are, but he needs to learn certain strategies to help him deal with things. This has been a struggle we’ve had for a very long time, and it’s one I’ve dealt with on my own.”

Jon says he feels this move to send Collin away to receive a special education has more to do with keeping him apart from his children than it has to do with Collin’s welfare. Mr. Gosselin criticizes Kate for not allowing him to see his children and says he hasn’t seen all three children together in three years or more.

“Everybody used to come to my house,” Jon Gosselin continued. “It was great, and then Madelyn and Cara just stopped coming, around 12-13 [years old]. I didn’t question it. I was just like, ‘Hey, do what you want. Be with your friends,’ and then it just became, ‘They’re not coming.'”
