Is Amber Heard Dating Elon Musk After Johnny Depp Divorce?

Amber Heard and Elon Musk have been linked to one another for weeks, and according to a new report, Musk’s interest in the ex-wife of Johnny Depp has been long-standing.

On August 24, People Magazine revealed Musk first became interested in Amber Heard in 2013 when he made a cameo in Robert Rodriguez’s Machete Kills. Although Heard and Musk didn’t appear in any scenes together during filming, a source close to the set revealed Musk had sent emails to the director and other movie sources in hopes of being introduced to Heard.

“If there is a party or event with [Amber Heard], I’d be interested in meeting her just out of curiosity,” Musk wrote, according to a snippet of an email shared by The Hollywood Reporter. “Allegedly, she is a fan of George Orwell and Ayn Rand… most unusual.”

After sending the email, a dinner date was reportedly set up, but Amber Heard, who was dating Johnny Depp at the time, never showed up. Still, rather than write off the meeting as a loss, Musk was said to have continued his efforts and sent yet another email.

“Can you send her a note saying I would like to get together for lunch in LA?” Musk reportedly wrote. “Am not angling for a date. I know she’s in a long-term relationship, but… [Amber Heard] just seems like an interesting person to meet.”

In response to the alleged release of Musk’s emails, a source told People Magazine that the email exchanges did happen and added that Musk enjoys meeting “interesting people from all different industries.”

The source also denied that Amber Heard and Elon Musk were involved in a romantic relationship as reports have claimed.

“They have been friends for four years, and they remain just friends now,” the source insisted.

While the source claims Amber Heard and Elon Musk’s relationship is strictly platonic, they have been spending tons of time together since her split from Johnny Depp. In addition to a couple of outings in Miami, Amber Heard and Elon Musk were also spotted together in London, where they enjoyed a night out at a popular nightclub.

Amber Heard and Johnny Depp were married for just over one year when Heard shocked fans by filing for divorce and accusing her now-ex-husband of assaulting her during their marriage.

Earlier this month, after Amber Heard’s claims were shared, TMZ claimed she and Depp had settled their divorce for $7 million, which Heard would be donating to a couple of charities. Although Heard had turned in photos of her bruised face to the courts months ago, claiming her injuries were sustained during a fight with Depp, her abuse claims were questioned by many, and ultimately, she chose to dismiss the case, which means she can never refile.

Following a failed deposition weeks ago, Amber Heard’s lawyers, Pierce O’Donnell and Samantha Spector, and Johnny Depp’s lawyers, Laura Wasser and Blair Berk, put together a settlement, which their clients agreed to.

After news of their divorce was announced, Amber Heard and Johnny Depp released a statement, which read, “Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love… Neither party has made false accusations for financial gains… There was never an intent of physical or emotional harm. [Amber Heard] wishes the best for Johnny in the future. Amber will be donating financial proceeds from the divorce to a charity.”
