Shocking But True, Song Joong-ki Already Has A Wife

While fans of Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo are betting big on the real-life union of Asia’s most celebrated couple, a shocking revelation has come to light.

Fans of Descendants of the Sun are eagerly looking forward to September 8, when the star couple Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo will join hands with the rest of the crew at the Hallyu awards ceremony.

For the past few days, both Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo have been making the gossip-mongering headlines, which romantically paired the lead actors of Descendants of the Sun. However, very few followers of this Korean drama are aware of the fact that Song Joong-ki already has a wife.

According to news reports, Song Joong-ki’s wife is of Chinese descent. Her name is Mai Wei, and she is 20. Like many followers of K-drama, she too is a huge fan of Song Joong-ki and his dramas. In fact, Mai Wei herself has appeared in several dramas. She is now a student at the Beijing Film Academy.

So does this mean the alleged affair of Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo will come to an end?

Fret not, dear fans, “Oppa” isn’t stone-hearted to have a secret marriage and not tell his fans about it. The crux of the matter is that Song Joong-ki is still single and unmarried, but the truth is he does have a wife. Check out her photos here.

According to reports, the search for Song Joong-ki’s wife began on May 31. This search was, in fact, a contest in Beijing, which tested contestants on how well they knew their beloved actor Song Joong-ki. Several young women took part in the contest which comprised two rounds: “Song Joong-ki analysis” and a talent quest.

The one who emerged the winner was declared Song Joong-ki’s wife. That’s how Mai Wei was chosen by the jury as Song Joong-ki’s wife.

The Top 3 contestants of the quest were given a chance to sign up with a modeling agency. They were also given free tickets to Song Joong-ki’s fan meetings. The winner, Mai Wei, Song Joong-ki’s “contest wife,” was given 6,000 yuan as “dowry.”

Meanwhile, another incident took place which got more tongues wagging. A few days ago, the lovely Song Hye-kyo sent a coffee truck from Coffee Pong to the sets of Battleship Island, where her former co-star Song Joong-ki was filming. Although this may be construed as a harmless and friendly gesture on the part of the actress, social media is abuzz with rumors that Song Hye-kyo has feelings for Song Joong-ki and that she also visited Song Joong-ki at the sets of Battleship Island.

Nonetheless, right from the start, both Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo have denied rumors that they are seeing each other. Fans of the duo, however, are not convinced. They are keen that the couple take their powerful on-screen chemistry offline.

Song Joong-ki recently told Soompi that even if he were in a relationship, he will make sure he keeps it under wraps.

“I have no plans to go public if I get into a relationship. I will do my best to safeguard the privacy of the person I love and respect her feelings. I may also want to keep the [relationship] a secret,” said Song Joong-ki.

Only time will tell if the Descendants of the Sun co-stars Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo will be friends for life or soulmates. Considering their personality traits and attitude, fans of both actors feel that the Song Song couple should get together in real life.
