Kristen Stewart. Balenciaga. Paris. Need we say more?
All eyes were on the actress this morning as the third day of Paris fashion week kicked off with a much anticipated Balenciaga fashion show.
After arriving in Paris yesterday looking comfortably casual Stewart kept her look low-key but upped her game wearing signature pieces from Balenciaga’s spring-summer 2013 collection.
Wearing a neon yellow, collarless biker jacket; loose black and white print pants; and flat boots from Balenciaga’s capsule line, the 22-year-old wore her hair wavy and side-swept. All in all, very au naturel.
After being greeted by Salma Hayek — actress and wife of François-Henri Pinault, whose family own Balenciaga — and a few snaps with photographers, the On The Road star sat in the coveted front row alongside American Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and renowned Vogue creative director Grace Coddington.
In fashion terms, this is equivalent of seeing the Holy Grail.
Also in the building was Carine Roitfeld, editor of the recently launched CR Fashion Book.
The show itself was one of the most accessible Nicolas Ghesquière has created: bold flamenco skirts with color panelling, gorgeous swing skirts with fluid prints, and sleeveless tops as well as sheath dresses in pastels and light spring coats with high-waisted smart jackets. Thirty-one-year-old creative director Ghesquière took his dues at the end of the show with a brief smile and a wave.
After a summer of corrosive headlines and continued press interest in status of her relationship with Robert Pattinson, today the 22-year-old fulfilled her contractual duties as the face of Balenciaga’s latest fragrance Florabotanica but was also there to support Ghesquière with whom she has a close working relationship.
