Meghan King Edmonds Defends Kelly Dodd After Bad Impressions On ‘RHOC’

Meghan King Edmonds was friends with Kelly Dodd last year when she was filming The Real Housewives of Orange County, and Meghan felt that Kelly would be a great addition to the cast this season. But King Edmonds quickly realized that she didn’t know her friend as well as she thought.

During her kitchen renovation party, Meghan learned that Kelly and Michael had almost divorced, but he had been so controlling that she just stayed in the relationship. In addition, Dodd revealed that her husband had undergone a psych evaluation because he was simply acting outrageously.

According to a new Bravo report, Meghan King Edmonds is now opening up about her friendship with Kelly. When Dodd came to visit her at her home, Meghan opened up about how embarrassed she had been during the sushi party, where Dodd had called Shannon Beador a “see you next Tuesday” and had completely lost her cool. Heather Dubrow had walked out of the party, and Kelly had clearly rattled all of the ladies with her behavior.

“I think that Kelly really seems to want to improve and I truly believe that she felt bad about how she acted at the dinner party. She easily could’ve gotten mad when I was so honest and blunt with her at my house, but the fact that she understood and felt bad, I know she means well. I hope everyone will get to see the real Kelly soon because then you’ll understand why I call her a friend,” Meghan King Edmonds reveals on her Bravo blog for The Real Housewives of Orange County, defending her decision to stand by Kelly and give her a second chance to prove herself.

During their conversation, King Edmonds told Dodd that she was downright embarrassed to be her friend in that moment, according to E! Online. Meghan didn’t defend Kelly during the dinner, as she simply sat back and took it all in. Of course, Meghan King Edmonds had something else going on in her mind that night, as it was the night before she was getting pregnant at the doctor’s office, and she would be learning whether she would be getting pregnant with a boy or a girl. Defending her friend’s bad behavior may not have been her priority that night.

“I loved getting preggers! It was one of my happiest days so far! I was so grateful that my mom was there with me. How many people get to say that their mom was there when they got pregnant?! And my FaceTime with Jimmy was really special because even though he wasn’t able to be there in person, I’m glad he was able to be included in the moment,” Meghan revealed on her blog, sharing that it was extremely exciting for her to get pregnant at the doctor’s office.

Of course, Meghan King Edmonds’ marriage has been criticized in the past, because Jimmy Edmonds hasn’t been as present during this IVF journey. But King Edmonds opened up about the power of marriage in her blog, as Shannon Beador and David decided to renew their vows on this week’s episode.

“I think it takes a lot of guts to see everyone being so candid about their marriages. And I think these ladies show that with some work and effort, you can make any marriage work,” Meghan explained on her blog for The Real Housewives of Orange County.

What do you think of Meghan King Edmonds’ decision to stand by her friend? Do you think fans will get to see a different side of Kelly Dodd as the season progresses?
