‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 7: Jason Momoa To Return As Khal Drogo?
Game of Thrones Season 7 is going to bring one of the most famous characters from the series. Jason Momoa, who played the iconic character Khal Drogo in the HBO fantasy television series recently teased his fans for his return in Season 7.
After his departure from Game of Thrones in Season 1, Momoa has always teased his fans that the legendary Khal will come again in the next season. Now, with some recently uploaded snaps, the actor has stirred up the new suspicion that Daenerys Targaryen’s (Emilia Clarke) husband and the great Dothraki ruler will be back again.
Momoa recently shared a snap on his Instagram handle featuring himself alongside Game of Thrones‘ showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. The trio can be seen enjoying a pint of Guinness. Their reunion took place in Ireland, one of several filming locations where GoT films.
In another post, the Conan the Barbarian actor said he was “so happy to be back” in the country.
This is not the first time the Hawaiian actor has teased his fans. He first hinted of a comeback following Season 6 Episode 1. After a scene where his on-screen wife, Daenerys, confronted the leader of the Dothraki horde. The 37-year-old actor took to his Instagram to express his support for Daenerys.
“My baby is holding it down @emilia_clarke #danyanddrogo Greatest show in the world. So happy for all my friends,” he wrote. “Miss u see u soon.”
Why Khal Drogo’s return probably won’t be easy to bring about
In the world of Westores, anything is possible. Daenerys can become the mother of three dragons, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) can be resurrected from the dead by Melisandre’s help. And even Khal Drogo can come back to the show, but bringing him won’t be an easy task for the creators.
For starters, his death happened at the end of the first season. Furthermore, his body was burned by Daenerys in order to give birth to her dragons, which further makes it impossible for him to get resurrected.
However, there are other ways that Momoa could return in the series.
In Game of Thrones Season 7, there is a possibility that viewers will get to see Khal Drogo’s look alike. At the same time, Bustle reported that there is a strong possibility that the character could appear in flashbacks. Well, this won’t come as a surprise, as the character has appeared in one vision since his death.
Meanwhile, Harington recently talked about the upcoming season. In his recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the first-time Emmy Award Nominee stated that according to him the next season will focus more on White Walkers and the army of dead.
Jason Momoa’s return as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones Season 7 is not yet confirmed by the creators, but if he does come back, then it would be interesting to see how his on-screen wife Daenerys would handle the situation, as she is already on her way to take the Iron Throne.
Game of Thrones Season 7 has no official premiere date for now, but from the recent updates, it looks like the new season will air in the third quarter of 2017.
