TX Driver With Two Flat Tires Slams Into Train, Dies

Houston, TX (AHN) – A man driving with two flat tires slammed into the side of a Kansas City Southern train in southwest Houston early Monday morning killing him on the spot.
The unidentified fatality was seen by a witness speeding and hitting a sign before crashing into the moving train at Fondren and S. Main at 5:30 a.m. The witness told police that sparks were flying from both rear wheels of the car.
The stop signal light on the railroad was on and the railroad crossing arm was lowered when the accident happened. The train’s conductor did not immediately notice that a car had slammed into the train but was stopped a couple of miles from the accident site by police.
A toxicology test is being conducted on the dead victim to determine if he was driving under the influence.
