Watch Sri Lanka Vs. Australia 2nd ODI Cricket Live Stream: Start Time, Preview As Sri Lanka Aim To Even Series

Sri Lanka must come from behind in their ODI series against World Cup champions Australia, in the Second One Day International that will stream live Wednesday, with skipper Angelo Mathews and his team attempting to figure out how to break what is now a four match ODI losing streak.

In the First ODI match on Sunday, Sri Lanka threw a non-stop spin attack on a sharply turning pitch at the Australia batsmen — who somehow solved the riddle to record their country’s highest-ever chase in the island nation, tracking down 227 to win by three wickets with 19 balls remaining.

For Australia, World Cup hero Mitchell Starc claimed three wickets, allowing a stingy economy rate of just 3.2 in his 10 overs, while fellow pacer James Faulkner took four for an economy of 3.8.

Dinesh Chandimal played the starring role for Sri Lanka with 80 not out, while on the Australia side, ODI specialist Aaron Finch and Captain Steve Smith recorded 56 and 58 respectively on the way to the winning total.

Mathews says the key a series evening victory in the Second ODI against Australia is to take a cautious approach against the dominant fast bowling of the tall left-hander Starc.

“We have a clear plan for him — to refrain from attacking him, so that we don’t give him wickets,” Mathews said on Tuesday. “If we can score 40 or 50 runs off him, we feel that we can catch up against the other bowlers.”

Chandimal took a short ball from Australia paceman Moses Henriques square in the ribs in the First ODI, but the standout Sri Lanka batsman says he expects to play in the Second ODI despite the bruise, which tests showed not to be serious.

But Sri Lanka will once again miss their own fast bowler Nuwan Pradeep, who continues to be sidelined with a hamstring issue, an injury incurred prior to the Second Test match of the three-Test series dominated by Sri Lanka.
