Hillsdale High School Bomb Blast Rattles San Mateo California

Hillsdale High School in San Mateo CA was evacuated at around 8am Monday morning after a pipe bomb exploded on the property.

San Mateo Police started recieving calls shortly after 8am that an explosion had occured at the school. The school was immediately evacuated and emergency crews and bomb squad units spent the day searching for other explosives, but so far have not found any. Hillsdale High School has some 1,200 students.

The school was beginning it’s second week of classes for the school year when the explosion happened and it’s not clear yet when classes will resume.
