Justin Bieber And Taylor Swift Follow Parallel Paths In Serial Dating, Breakup Songs And Spats
Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift are known for their long-running feud, beginning when Swift supported her best friend, Selena Gomez, in her belief that the Biebs was bad news when it came to romance. Most recently, amid Taylor’s feud with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, Bieber abandoned Gomez and Swift to join Team Kimye.
But, despite their battle with each other, Taylor and Justin mirror each other when it comes to their history, including their serial dating style, their fame for writing songs about bummer breakups, and even their feuds with other people.
Bieber’s Breakup Ballads
When it comes to tunes that make musical memories, Justin previously admitted that after he and Selena split, several of the tracks on his Purpose album were inspired by his former girlfriend, noted Hollywood Life.
“Probably like three [are about Selena],” he confessed.
“I think that I’m definitely in another place and I think we’ve definitely went our separate ways. I love her and I want her to be awesome, but there are things that remind me of her,” he confessed.
As to which songs were about Gomez, Justin admitted to Ellen DeGeneres that “What Do You Mean,” “Sorry,” and “Mark My Words” were all inspired by their relationship, reported Teen Vogue.
“We have a lot of history together,” he pointed out.
Swift’s Split Songs
While Ellen struggled to persuade the “What Do You Mean” singer to reveal his specific Jelena split songs, Taylor has succeeded in smoothly playing the breakup music game when it comes to knowing what to reveal, and when to discuss her past romantic relationships that inspired her musical artistry. Swift has a history of songs about ex-boyfriends that might be worthy of a graduate student’s thesis.
Taylor has used her split songs like a public journal to share her heartbreaks with her fans, as well as to occasionally throw shade, pointed out Rolling Stone.
One of Swift’s most famous split songs, however, was “Forever and Always,” inspired by Joe Jonas. The lyrics reveal her frustration over what happened.
“Was I out of line?/Did I say something way too honest, made you run and hide/Like a scared little boy.”
Taylor revealed that she views her relationship with Jonas as “really, really dramatic and crazy.” And in a famous interview with Ellen, Swift even announced that Joe split with her “over the phone in 25 seconds.” Ouch.
“Dear John” came courtesy of John Mayer, who was 12 years older than Taylor when they were dating. John subsequently admitted that he felt “humiliated” by the tune.
Biebs Plays Serial Dating Game
But it’s not just split songs in which the two are like mirror images. Both have become serial daters, and Bieber has a revolving door in which girlfriends have come and gone ever since Jelena ended.
In February, Hailey Baldwin earned her space in the Biebs’ girlfriends musical chairs game. The “Sorry” singer even announced in an interview that he “really love[s]” Hailey, reported ABC News.
“I know that in the past I’ve hurt people and said things that I didn’t mean to make them happy in the moment.”
The crooner talked marriage, questioning what would happen if Hailey turned out to be his dream romance.
“What if Hailey ends up being the girl I’m gonna marry, right?” he pondered. “If I rush into anything, if I damage her, then it’s always gonna be damaged. It’s really hard to fix wounds like that.”
However, fast-forward to June, and the Biebs had broken up with Baldwin and moved onto Nicola Peltz, with whom he had sleepovers at his home, according to Us Weekly‘s source.
“He’s really into her,” claimed the insider.
But as the Inquisitr reported, the “Mark My Words” singer also maintained an off again, on again relationship with Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, Kourtney Kardashian. He later went skinny-dipping with hot model Sahara Ray, and now, he has moved on with Sofia Richie.
And just in case that isn’t enough, Justin has been hitting nightclubs in London with model Bronte Blampied, reported New York magazine.
Blampied and Bieber were seen twice at a nightclub, the V Festival, and also at his nude party in Hawaii.
Taylor’s Boyfriend Timeline
But Swift stands up to the test of serial dating as well. She just moved on after going through a “We are never ever ever getting back together” split from Calvin Harris, noted Marie Claire.
Harry Styles reportedly inspired Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble,” while the age gap between Taylor and Jake Gyllenhaal ruined that romantic relationship. And when Swift dated Taylor Lautner, fans had no problems coming up with a nickname for Tay-Tay as a couple.
As noted, Joe Jonas and John Mayer also contributed their splits to Swift’s serial dating style.
Bieber Battles And Swift Spats
Both the Biebs and Taylor have a history of feuds, and Swift has several ongoing wars with other music celebrities. Taylor and Katy Perry, for example, have feuded for years, pointed out Elle.
One of Swift’s most famous battles, however, is with Kanye West, whose wife Kim Kardashian recently joined in the war. Kardashian threw shade at the pop princess in an interview, claiming that Swift had lied regarding whether she knew ahead of time about Kanye’s “Famous” lyrics.
As for Bieber, he has a long history of battling with Orlando Bloom, reported the Mirror.
In 2012, the “Sorry” singer wasn’t sorry for getting flirty with Miranda Kerr, who, at the time, was married to Orlando. The two subsequently met up and fought regarding remarks the singer made, alleging that he and Miranda had been intimate during her marriage to Bloom.
Consequently, when Bloom and Bieber paraded recently in their birthday suits, there was speculation that they were continuing their feud by displaying their nude bodies to try to outdo each other.
But Justin also has feuded with Taylor, keeping the war going recently when he ditched her side to flee to Kanye’s camp, noted the Daily Beast.
Prior to deactivating his Instagram account, Bieber posted a screenshot showing his FaceTime meeting with West. The caption succinctly threw shade at Swift.”Taylor Swift what up,” he mocked.
