‘RHONY’ Star LuAnn De Lesseps Standing By Her Cheating Fiance To Earn A Spot On Season 9
LuAnn de Lesseps isn’t calling off her wedding with Tom D’Agostino, despite his surprising cheating scandal.
While the Real Housewives of New York star isn’t walking away from D’Agostino, Radar Online is reporting that de Lesseps was devastated by the scandal.
Is de Lesseps staying with her cheating fiance for the sake of reality TV?
Bethenny Frankel exposed D’Agostino’s cheating past in the latest episode of RHONY.
After Frankel provided evidence of D’Agostino cheating, de Lesseps was reportedly “devastated” by his actions.
“Obviously, this is still really heartbreaking for her,” a source explained.
Why isn’t de Lesseps calling off the wedding?
Apparently, the reality star wants to stay relevant on the show and is afraid that if she ends her relationship with D’Agostino producers might give her the boot.
“She had been reduced to a lesser role, and her relationship with Tom put her back to front and center,” the source continued. “She’s upset by the drama, but more so, she wants to remain on Housewives. Tom is her ticket to staying on the show.”
De Lesseps did see her role on the hit reality show decline back in Season 6 when her status was changed to a friend. The shakeup happened after her split with Jacques Azoulay.
Meanwhile, Frankel recently sat down with Us Magazine and talked about why she broke the news about D’Agostino instead of keeping it a secret.
“It wasn’t like this person was in a back alley doing a drug deal. [Tom was] in the Regency Hotel Midtown on their popular night, making out at the bar for two hours the night before [LuAnn’s] engagement party a week and a half after her engagement,” Frankel told the magazine. “That’s the story, and I don’t know what else to say. To each their own.”
“I suck at relationships. I’m not giving her any advice. I’m saying these are the facts, and the question remains, ‘Would you want to know?'” she said. “…I do have the receipts to prove it. Well, I’ve got dates and time stamps, so yes, I’ve got the receipts to show LuAnn.”
On the latest installment of RHONY, Frankel revealed a photo of D’Agostino at the bar with another woman.
De Lesseps couldn’t handle the situation and refused to look at the image. Instead, she just broke into tears and told the camera, “Tom, don’t tell me you’re that stupid. Please don’t tell me you’re that stupid.”
To make matters worse, de Lesseps didn’t appreciate how Frankel handled the situation.
According to Reality Tea, de Lesseps thought Frankel should have told Dorinda Medley about it first before going to Carole Radziwill and Ramona Singer.
“If you call yourself concerned and a friend, would you share what you know with women who haven’t been the closest of friends in the past?” de Lesseps shared. “Or would you tell the whole world before you share what you know privately? Obviously, the person taking the photograph had an agenda and was all too happy to share that information with my “buddy” Bethenny.”
Indeed, de Lesseps went on to question why Frankel’s motivation for exposing the secret.
In fact, she believes that Frankel is bitter from her breakup with Jason Hoppy and is only taking out her frustrations on her.
For now, their wedding is still on, though it isn’t clear what will happen in the coming weeks.
