Lamar Odom And Khloe Kardashian: Kris Jenner Encourages His Return To Basketball, Khloe Reacts [VIDEO]

A year after a near-fatal overdose, Lamar Odom seems to be making a resurgence and wants to return to basketball. Khloe Kardashian is concerned about the former NBA star, while Kris Jenner encourages the idea.

In a preview for Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Lamar accidently gets sauce on the carpet and Kris Jenner helps the NBA clean it up with napkins. Khloe notices the special treatment Lamar gets from Kris.

“If this was anybody else she would cuss them out,” Kardashian says. “You have her wrapped around your little finger. Sauce all over her grey rug and she doesn’t even flinch!”

Kris Jenner then asks Lamar about his children Destiny, 17, and son Lamar Jr., 13. Lamar reveals his son is growing tall and playing basketball.

This leads Kris Jenner to ask Odom if he is getting back into basketball. Lamar, who has been spotted with a personal trainer, reveals that he is thinking about getting back to playing ball.

“Yeah. I’m going to go to this training facility in Santa Barbara,” Odom replies. “A lot of pros and guys that would be pros work out there.”

Khloe Kardashian remains silent and briefly looks down revealing her concern.

In another clip, Khloe talks about Lamar and her mixed feelings about his return to basketball.

“Basketball is obviously Lamar’s passion and love, and anything that’s positive and uplifting I’m all for, but Lamar hasn’t followed through recently with so many things. I need to see some consistency and a little effort on Lamar’s part. Going to a basketball camp is a big step, and I don’t want to set him up for failure.”

Kris Jenner, on the other hand, seems to embrace the idea that Lamar is training.

Khloe’s concerns are not fictional. There have been numerous reports of Lamar Odom having multiple relapses and asking for money. Khloe reportedly put her foot down and refused to enable his behavior.

According to People, last month Lamar avoided an intervention and left his children and family in fear about his health.

“Lamar has surrounded himself with enablers,” says the insider. “No one tells him no or makes decisions that are best for him. So Lamar is in complete denial. He thinks he can just keep going and treating his body like this with no consequences. He won’t listen to anybody.”

The most recent updates about Lamar’s health seem positive. The former NBA star was seen in a video shot by his personal trainer. Lamar said that he feels good and had harsh words for those that want to see him fail.

Khloe’s main concern is whether Lamar will keep up with the strides he is making towards better health. Family and friends fear another relapse in the near future, and it is not clear whether Lamar can survive another near-death experience.

Lamar Odom had a troubled childhood. His father was addicted to heroin and his mother died of cancer when he was twelve. His childhood best friend, Jamie Sangouthai, died of a drug-related condition last year.

Despite his tough upbringing, Lamar became an Olympian and NBA star known for his offensive skill as a forward.

Lamar was also popular among his teammates due to his personality and playing style.

Khloe and Lamar are still married and she has never written off rekindling their romance. If Lamar can work his way back to good health, there is hope for the couple, who had their own reality TV show Khloe & Lamar.

It is unclear whether Lamar wants to get back in the NBA, play in another league or just get back in shape. Lamar is 36-years-old and at 6 ft. 10 in., he will generate a lot of interest on a return.
