Salma Hayek Dishes On Diet, Motherhood In New Interview

Salma Hayek is not afraid to admit that she’s got curves — and an addiction to amazing food. The actress recently spoke with Canada’s More magazine about her body, dieting, and motherhood.

Hayek told the magazine that she keeps her weight in check by stepping on the (dreaded for some women) scale every day and passing up on rich food and good wine when she hits her “alarm number,” reports The San Francisco Chronicle.

The Mexican beauty — who lives in France with her husband, Francois-Henri Pinault, and their daughter, Valentina — isn’t afraid to admit that she sometimes overindulges in the amazing French cuisine, but she adds that she keeps it in check, knowing when she’s gone too far. Hayek states:

“I’m not a skinny girl. I push it. I’m at the limit of chubbiness at all times, but I’m happy at all times. Everybody has a weakness (and) mine is food. If you love food and you love red wine and they put you in France, you’re in a good place and you’re in a bad place at the same time.””

Celebrity Baby Scoop notes that Salma Hayek also insists love helps keep her in shape as well, saying:

“I think if I was not in love, I would probably let myself go faster. Love gives me the vanity to continue. I’m not necessarily vain, but when I gained 50-something pounds in the pregnancy, it did something to me. Since then, at least I make an effort.”

The actress, whose new film Here Comes the Boom will hit theaters on October 12, also talked about her daughter, 5-year-old Valentina, and her love of gymnastics. Hayek stated, “She’s into the gymnastics because of the Olympics. It’s amazing how she points her toes, like a little bird or something. She’s doing it every day.”

Are you glad that there are actresses like Salma Hayek who aren’t upset about having curves?
