‘The Originals’: Marcel Responsible For Klaus Being Alive – Status Of Their Relationship In Season 4 [Spoilers]
The Originals Season 4 will air on The CW network in early 2017. Despite that being a long way off, there are still spoilers for the supernatural TV show. One is that Marcel Gerard (Charles Michael Davis) is responsible for keeping Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) alive. The status of their relationship and exactly what that means was explained by the executive producer.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Klaus Mikaelson will wake up from his agony-induced coma. It isn’t a matter of if, but when and how. Many fans are wondering what will happen between Marcel and Klaus when that happens.
According to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Julie Plec explained the status of Marcel and Klaus‘ complicated relationship in The Originals Season 4.
“The indignity of Klaus Mikaelson’s situation the last five years [is being] held captive by his surrogate son and forced to be an advisor to a king that he does not recognize. Also, [he knows] Marcel is actually singularly responsible for the fact he’s alive, because so many people have come to town in the last five years desperate to see him reduced to ash.”
It was previously reported by TV Guide that the new villain in The Originals Season 4 will be a “sadistic vampire” who has a grudge against Klaus Mikaelson. That grudge goes back centuries and he is determined to kill the main character. However, Klaus is not the only one in danger. It turns out that the new villain will cause problems for everyone in New Orleans. The publication teased that Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) is the first one the villain “latches” onto. Some fans are wondering if this is the reason Klaus wakes up from his 5-year coma. Could Marcel take him out of the tomb and remove the Tunde blade to deal with this enemy?
Other spoilers for The Originals Season 4 include Hope no longer being a baby. Obviously, five years have passed, which means Hope will be a 7-year-old girl when the show returns to The CW network. Also, Hope is the most important thing to Klaus Mikaelson, so perhaps she will be the key to his redemption. However, don’t expect him to play nice right away. He is going to be grieving for Cami (Leah Pipes), who died last season. He will also be angry about what Marcel has done.
There are rumors that Danielle Campbell may return to reprise her role of Davina on The Originals. The actress would not give a solid answer on whether Davina will return to TV Line. However, it was confirmed that Claire Holt is returning in Season 4 as Rebekah Mikaelson. She, along with Elijah (Daniel Gillies), Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic), and Freya (Riley Voelkel) are on a dreamscape. Their lives are tethered to Klaus’ and are waiting to be saved. Will Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) be able to find the cure?
Christina Moses from Containment will appear on The Originals Season 4. She will play the last surviving member of her werewolf family. There is speculation that she might hold the cure. However, will Hayley be able to convince her to help the Mikaelson family? It probably won’t be easy, but Hayley can be very persuasive when it is necessary.
