‘The Lost Boys’ Will Be A New TV Show, But Could Corey Feldman Be Involved?

The Lost Boys, a 1987 cult horror classic featuring handsome young heartthrobs that set a generation of young girls into palpitations, is about to become the latest CW television series. The CW has employed Rob Thomas, creator of Veronica Mars and iZombie, to adapt the film’s concepts for television. Currently, there is a plan in place for seven seasons set a decade apart. The first season will take place in 1967 San Francisco during the “Summer of Love,” according to Slash Film

Corey Feldman, Corey Haim, Jason Patric, Kiefer Sutherland, and Jami Gertz starred in the first of three Lost Boys movies, but Feldman was the only original cast member to star in all three films according to Variety. The trilogy features the first and most well-known film, of course, titled simply The Lost Boys.

The Lost Boys: The Tribe was released in 2008, 20 years after the famed cult classic. A third film The Lost Boys: The Thirst was released in 2010. Though Corey Haim was not directly involved in the making of The Thirst, he did appear briefly in clips from the first film, incorporated in the second sequel. Haim passed away in 2010 at the age of 38.

Corey Feldman, now 45, has a wide range of interests. He has written a book titled Coreyography according to Movie Web. He also released a mixed genre double album of his own original music on June 22. The album is titled Angelic 2 the Core. Corey is now focused on promoting the album, getting the word out about yet another of his many talents. Feldman also owns a company called Corey’s Angels.

Do The Lost Boys characters the Frog brothers have a future? Movie Web asked Feldman in an interview seven days ago. His reply seems more than a coincidence in light of recent events at The CW.

“Is there a possible future? Is there more life in the Frog Brothers and The Lost Boys? Absolutely! There is always the possibility. That is one of the things I’m most proud of. I’ve been instrumental in helping that franchise come back to life. And being a big part of it. Do I see a future with possibly more Frog Brothers movies? Absolutely! Is it a guarantee? No! Do we have something on the table at the moment? No. But there might be some ideas kicking around. Let’s just say, at this point, they are at the idea stage.”

Was Corey Feldman already privy to The CW’s plan to resurrect The Lost Boys? It certainly seems odd that they announced plans for the series less than a week after the interview. If he was aware of the plan, he would not have been at liberty to speak about it before the announcement. Even if his comments were coincidental, it sounds like Feldman might be very interested in helping out with the series in some capacity.

Could Corey Feldman still play the role of a lost boy at age 45? Ordinarily, one would think not, but Corey still looks insanely young for his age, almost mimicking the vampire role he once played. He hasn’t aged much at all, so maybe he could pull off playing the role of a teenage vampire. It would certainly be a feather in The CW’s cap to have an original cast member from the movie as part of their show. Nothing is official at all, but Slash Film speculated that perhaps Corey Feldman or even Kiefer Sutherland might be interested in appearing on The CW’s new show.

The Lost Boys roles have not been cast yet, and the idea is still in its infancy. Chances are most of the new cast will be in their teens or early 20s, and of course, they will have to be extremely attractive. There will be new stars in the making when the show finally premieres on The CW.
