Kate Middleton Rumors: Family Feud Reportedly Growing As Carole Middleton Keeps Royals From Seeing Their Grandchildren

Kate Middleton is rumored to be in the middle of an escalating family feud, with her mother reportedly causing tension with Prince Charles and Camila Parker-Bowles over access to the royal grandchildren.

There have been rumors for months that Carole Middleton has been taking a very active role in the raising of her grandchildren, which hasn’t sat well with certain members of the royal family. That tension is reportedly escalating, with a new report that Prince Charles and his wife are lashing out against Duchess Kate’s mom.

The report, which came from Life & Style magazine, claimed that “a royal war has broken out between the Middleton family and William’s parents,” one that has started to reach Duchess Kate and Prince William.

Celeb Dirty Laundry added some details, noting that Prince Charles is “furious” over being reportedly snipped out of his grandchildren’s lives.

“Prince Charles has not been given as much access to the little Royals as Carole Middleton, and this exclusion is not because of an uncontrollable factor such as conflicting schedules or official responsibilities.

“Whatever the reasons, both Prince William and Kate Middleton are distraught over the feud between their parents and are trying desperately to mend fences: ‘[Prince]William hates drama so he asked Kate to speak to her mother. Everyone hopes they can put this rift behind them for the sake of the kids… The last thing [Kate] wants is for the war to escalate.'”

This is not the first time that Kate Middleton has reportedly been caught in the middle of a family feud. Previous reports claimed that Queen Elizabeth II has even gotten involved, pushing back as Carole Middleton reportedly encouraged the couple to buck royal traditions.

It’s difficult to separate fact from fiction when it comes to reports on Kate Middleton, however. Duchess Kate is a lightning rod for tabloids, and for years there have been endless stories claiming that either she is pregnant or that she and Prince William are having problems in their marriage. As most of the pregnancy stories have been off the mark — and all of the divorce stories are wrong — it has become difficult to give credence to other stories that come from unnamed sources reportedly close to Duchess Kate.

In fact, it was just a little more than two months ago that a source claimed Kate Middleton and Prince William were in deep trouble, buckling under the pressure of intense media scrutiny and even facing the potential of divorce.

The report from In Touch magazine claimed that Duchess Kate and Prince William were going to couples therapy to address their issues. The source said they weren’t facing any major problems, but the usual ups and downs of marriage had become that much more difficult given the spotlight they are constantly under.

“Their issues are on an even bigger scale, and they’re constantly arguing at the moment about the pressure Kate is under, William’s attitude about it and how to raise their kids,” the source said, via Celeb Dirty Laundry. “They’re going through a very rocky patch.”

If there was any truth to that report, it seem to have passed now as the couple is making a number of appearances together, including a trip planned to North America.

There were reports around the same time that Kate Middleton was actually pregnant — possibly with twins — but that seems to have fizzled out as well, with Duchess Kate making a number of public appearances looking decidedly not pregnant and even engaging in some high-risk activities like water skiing, which she likely would not do if she was really pregnant.

The latest rumor that Kate Middleton is in the midst of a royal family feud has not been confirmed by any actual members of the royal family, either.
