‘The Walking Dead’: Morgan Was Supposed To Be At Terminus — Would Lennie James’ Character On ‘TWD’ Be Different If He Had?

The Walking Dead is coming back to AMC in just a few months with the Season 7 premiere. Everyone is talking about who Negan killed or what will happen with the TWD characters when the series returns. However, let’s go back a few seasons to discuss Lennie James’ character. The actor portrays Morgan, and it turns out he was originally supposed to show up at Terminus. Would Morgan’s character be any different if he had been at Terminus to save Rick Grimes and the others?

There may be possible spoilers for The Walking Dead ahead. If you do not want to risk knowing what could happen or are not completely caught up with TWD, then proceed with caution.

In Season 4, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and some members of his group headed to Terminus. It was promised to be a sanctuary, and the characters were hoping to find safety there. However, it turned out to be the opposite. Instead of providing safety, Gareth (Andrew J. West), Mary (Denise Crosby), and the rest at Terminus turned out to be cannibals. Of course, they had a story to tell, but killing and eating survivors is an odd way to deal with the horrors of the new world.

As fans recall, Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) saved Rick and the others from slaughter. However, one familiar character was originally supposed to show up at Terminus. According to Entertainment Weekly, that person was Morgan, played by Lennie James. Showrunner Scott Gimple explained this in a commentary on The Walking Dead: The Complete Sixth Season Blu-ray + Digital HD set, which is due to be released on August 23.

“At the end of 416, Rick would say, ‘They’re screwing with the wrong people’ and a gentleman would come out of the shadows of the train car and he would say, ‘Yeah, they are.’ And that would be Lennie, as Morgan. And it looked like it almost could have happened.”

As TWD know, there were many times when Lennie James wanted to come back as Morgan. However, he had other commitments that prevented it from happening. He popped in once in a while until Season 6, when he appeared as a series regular. With the news that Morgan was supposed to be at Terminus, would his character be any different?

It seems that he would be. Characters change based on their experiences. Terminus was horrifying and really showed what the new world can do to zombie apocalypse survivors. Just look at how Rick and the others were at the beginning of the series compared to now. It’s all due to their experiences and what they have gone through. In Morgan’s current storyline, he is a peaceful man who tries not to kill. This is because of his “journey” before finding Alexandria. If Morgan would have been at Terminus and discovered Gareth and the cannibals, his current outlook on life would be very different.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, The Walking Dead Season 7 will include a lot of new characters and communities. According to the Spoiling Dead Fans on Facebook, the show is looking to cast a character named Brion, who may be male or female. The character is supposed to be a leader of a new group. Fans are not sure if this is based on a character from the comic books. However, some predict it might be Alpha.

Do you think Lennie James’ character on TWD would be different if he had experienced Terminus? What would Carol be doing if Morgan had saved Rick Grimes and the others? What are your predictions for Morgan on The Walking Dead? Season 7 premieres October 23 on AMC.
