Kenya Moore Puts Education First: Once Again She’s Helping Someone Get Through School

Kenya Moore may be known for creating drama on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, especially since she’s been in the middle of various controversies over the past couple of years. One of the fights that Kenya didn’t want to talk about on the show had to do with her finances. NeNe Leakes kept saying that she was rich and that Moore didn’t have any money. To prove that she had money, Kenya decided to donate $20,000 to the Detroit Public Schools Foundation and asked NeNe to match her donation. While Kenya held up her end of the deal, Leakes never donated $20,000 to the foundation.

According to a new Instagram post, Kenya Moore is now proving that her good deed wasn’t just a one-time occurrence. On her Instagram, Moore has been sharing pictures of a young lady, who recently got an internship. She did the work, but she didn’t get paid for her work, which means she doesn’t have enough money to go to Harvard to continue with her education. And Kenya Moore wants to help out, so she’s asking her fans to donate money for this girl’s education.

“I affectionately call this young dynamic woman “DJ”. She is wickedly smart and witty and has an amazing spirit. I’ve promised to match dollar for dollar for any gofundme funds raised for her to get back into Howard University. Please donate even if it’s $1. LINK IN BIO Please share,” Kenya Moore revealed on her Instagram page, sharing a link to the GoFundMe page.

The GoFundMe page has raised just over $2,000 from people, who are willing to help out. Most of the donations are between $20 and $25, but one person anonymously donated $500. It sounds like people really want to help her out. Kenya has revealed that she will match all of the donations, so her friend can go back to Harvard.

Many people questioned Kenya Moore’s motivation when she donated $20,000 to the Detroit Public Schools Foundation. Of course, Moore is from Detroit and she wanted to do something great for the city she knows well. Plus, she wanted to prove to NeNe that she actually had the money she was being accused of not having. While it took her some time to get the money ready, she proudly shared the check on Instagram.

“I’m proud to be able to give back and keep my promise to the Detroit public school foundation to donate $20,000. Detroit is a resilient city and so am I. I will continue to shine despite the people who want to see me fail or try to turn my positivity into negativity. See you soon Detroit #Igotyourmoney #kenaylovesthekids #twirlsawayhaters,” Kenya Moore revealed on her Instagram last year when she donated the money, according to Bossip.

It has been over a year since Kenya Moore donated the money. At the time, she asked NeNe Leakes to donate the same amount of money, since she claimed she was so rich. She has yet to actually donate any money to the Detroit Public Schools Foundation and it sounds like she has no plans of doing so. She keeps saying that she has plenty of money. And yet, NeNe is currently making headlines for owing the IRS about $1 million in taxes. While she keeps working and possibly filming The Real Housewives of Atlanta this season, it sounds like she’s not too good at paying her taxes.

What do you think of Kenya Moore helping a girl get back into Harvard by raising money so she can pay her schooling? Are you surprised that so many people have stepped up to help her out?
