Samantha Wragg’s $85,950 Wedding Dress: Ebay Bids Surge Due To Cheating Husband

Samantha Wragg is getting plenty of attention for her eBay listing that explains the reason she is selling her wedding dress. Wragg might also end up getting a pretty penny for her wedding dress, because the starting price of the eBay listing was only 500 British Pounds — about $652 U.S. — but has swelled to £65,900.00 as of this writing, which translates to a whopping $85,953 or so U.S. dollars on Friday, August 19.

As reported by Newser, Samantha’s honest eBay U.K. listing description brought plenty of attention to the wedding dress, which Wragg describes as an Art Deco wedding gown. But the sad reason Samantha wrote that she was forced to sell her ivory wedding dress is in order to pay for her divorce, shortly after her parents paid for her wedding gown in 2014.

“I’m selling this designer Art Deco wedding dress in ivory. Mainly selling as I need to pay for my divorce which my ex-husband has left me to foot the bill for! It’s strapless, with a long lace train which can be hooked up for the evening do. It’s a size 6 and I’ve had it altered so it will be perfect for someone who is 5ft or under with heels and is looking to save some money on a dress. There are tiny buttons down the back but these are for decoration as it fastens with a long zip, so quite easy to get into compared to some of the monstrosities of dresses I’ve seen.

“As it reaches the floor, it is a little dirty around this area and so will need a dry clean before it’s worn for your special day. I didn’t have time to get it dry-cleaned myself before my cheating scumbag of a husband decided to call an end to our marriage. It cost my poor parents around £2000 brand new in 2014!”

With the wedding gown originally priced at £2000, that means Wragg’s parents paid around $2,611 U.S. for the gown two years ago. That explains why Samantha would list the used wedding dress for only approximately $652 on eBay.

However, Wragg may have never expected her story to go viral and end up potentially selling the wedding gown at a price of nearly $100,000 — that’s if the bidding continues to skyrocket the way it has been going. With 11 eBay bidders having placed 73 bids on the wedding gown within 10 days — and only a little less than two days left until the bidding closes, the eBay item could bring Samantha a pretty penny from those who are likely sympathizing with Wragg’s plight.

Samantha wrote that the wedding dress eBay listing also includes the wedding veil. Wragg also apologized that she only had two photos of the wedding gown to post on the eBay listing, explaining that she got rid of nearly everything that contained her husband’s “disgusting face on it” when Samantha learned he was living with another woman.

Wragg also wrote that any eBay buyers with questions — about the wedding gown or the “skank” her husband left her for — could contact her on eBay. That’s probably the reason for the 359 inquiries on the eBay listing.

Samantha called the wedding dress one that came with “bad memories and shattered hopes and dreams” — an eBay listing description that surprisingly brought lots of bids. Wragg wrote that she hoped the eBay buyer of her wedding gown would have a lot more happy times than Samantha had.

On Samantha’s Coco Butter Blog, Wragg revealed that she would never actually sell all the dirty details of her marriage gone wrong, but that she actually wishes her ex-husband the best.

According to ITV News, Wragg is a 28-year-old who found it in her heart to forgive her ex-husband despite his mistake.
