Justin Bieber’s mom, Pattie Mallette, gives an inside look at the famous singer’s family in her new book Nowhere But Up: The Story Of Justin Bieber’s Mom.

And it isn’t a pretty story.

The book, of course, has a happy ending, but Bieber’s mom talks about several unsettling incidents from her past. According to AOL, Mallette talks about abuse she suffered as a child, raising a child as a single mother, and how she was once tried to commit suicide.

Needless to say, the book was pretty difficult for Bieber to read.

Pattie said:

“I know reading the book was really hard for him … I know a few times he just had a really tough time getting through some of the chapters, and I can’t blame him.”

One emotional chapter talks about how Pattie almost decided to have an abortion when she found out that she was pregnant at 18.

Pattie said:

“I was terrified. I was 18. I was pregnant. I didn’t know what to do or where to go. But I just knew that terminating the pregnancy wasn’t an option for me.”

Mallette also talks about the abuse she experienced as a child and the emotional scars she had to deal with.

Mallette writes:

“I had a really tough childhood, but I just know that I really wanted to help other people with this book. For years I was in denial, thinking that sexual abuse didn’t affect me. That denial kept me in pain. I’ve spent most of my adult life sifting through the tangled web of emotional wounds and the debris left by the darkness.”

Bieber said that he was proud of his mom for writing the book, saying that she’s he “strongest woman I’ve ever met.”

Bieber said:

“I’ve always known it, but this book helped to remind me just how strong she is,”

Are you going to read the new book by Justin Bieber’s mom”

  3. HAHAHA not funny. thats so old.

  4. No, not going to read it. I don't know why she thinks just because she lived through some tough times that it qualifies her to write a book about it. I know many young women who had to make those kinds of decisions and aren't running to a publisher to write the book. She's cashing in. Greed. Him and his mother. And if each person who attempted suicide wrote a book, there wouldn't be enough room on bookshelves. Know what I wish? That Justin would finally be honest with himself and his fans and come out of the closet. It couldn't be more obvious. Imagine if you knew a kid in high school who dressed like him. Just saying. Took Ricky Martin long enough to finally admit it.

Give us a break. Won't your kid give you a few bucks to shut up? Think you're the only single parent that had struggles?
Think you had problems? I'm a single parent who's kid didn't net 50 MIL last year. You're a mooch trying to cash in while the going's good. Jerk.

How old are you that you even care to write such a post about Justin Bieber?

  9. @jeddmusicgroup….DUH…how old do I look? I am allowed to comment on anything I want. I'm old enough. How old are you that you care what I comment on? And there is nothing wrong with him being gay. Just be honest. And I still think Ricky Martin is hot. No matter how old I am.
