This just in: The Lingerie Football League has more integrity than the NFL.

The LFL released a statement last night chastising the NFL for allowing incompetent refs to ruin the game of football.

According to a statement on the league’s Facebook page, the LFL parted ways with several refs that did not live up to the league’s high standards. The LFL said that it was important for the credibility of the game, as well as player’s safety, to have competent refs on the field.

The message also hints at the fact that the NFL is currently being officiated by the same Lingerie Football League refs who were fired for their incompetence.

The message, which is accompanied by a photo of LFL Commissioner Mitchell Mortaza, reads:

“Because of the LFL’s perception it is that much more critical for us to hire officiating crews that are competent, not only for the credibility of our game but to keep our athletes safer. Due to several on-field incompetent officiating we chose to part ways with with a couple crews which apparently are now officiating in the NFL. We have a lot of respect for our officials but we felt the officiating was not in line with our expectations.”

The message doesn’t name which refs have a history with the LFL but the point Mortaza is making is clear: The LFL, which isn’t considered a real sports league by many, has more respect for the game of football than the NFL.

Mortaza continues:

“We have not made public comment to date because we felt it was not our place to do so. However in light of tonight’s event, we felt it was only fair that NFL fans knew the truth as to who are officiating these games.”
