‘After Paradise’ News: Why Isn’t Chris Harrison The One Hosting?

Fans of Chris Harrison have noticed that he isn’t on After Paradise this season. Chris is still the host of Bachelor in Paradise, but when it comes to the after show, he isn’t around at all. When Chris was absent the first week, everyone thought that he would return, but Harrison isn’t going to be hosting at all. E! Online shared what Chris Harrison had to say about not hosting and it turns out it wasn’t his choice. Instead of Chris, each week you will see Sean Lowe and Michelle Collins hosting the show. They will be bringing on people from the show to talk to them about all of the drama this season.

A fan went to Twitter to ask Chris Harrison what was going on and why he wasn’t there. Chris said, “Very sorry but trust me, wasn’t my call.” When told by a fan that they missed him, Chris said he misses the show, too. An insider shared that Chris Harrison is really upset about it, though. The insider said, “This is the first Bachelor show that he hasn’t been involved with. He’s really upset. Chris had every intention of being involved with the show.” It sounds like Chris Harrison really wanted to be back to host Bachelor in Paradise, but ABC didn’t.

Of course, ABC won’t share why Chris Harrison isn’t on the show. They aren’t commenting on it at all. Another source shared that they picked Michelle over Chris because “They decided to try having a super fan host it. They wanted someone who wasn’t on the island and who didn’t already know what happened.” You also have to think about the fact that Chris Harrison might come with a pretty high price tag, but that is just speculation.

Reality Steve also touched on this subject on his blog because fans were wondering what was going on and why Chris Harrison was missing. He shared that Catherine Lowe actually confirmed on her Twitter that the hosts would be staying the same. She was there on the first episode backstage with her son and even brought him out to see Sean at the end of the show. Steve was guessing that it might have to do with the fact that Chris Harrison is filming the show Who Wants to be a Millionaire right now. This show is filming in Las Vegas this season, so that could cause some problems with filming. It isn’t like Sean Lowe lives in LA either, though. Chris could make it from Las Vegas to LA to film the show in just a 45-minute flight if they wanted him to host the show.

If there is an issue between ABC and Chris Harrison, they are not talking about it. The idea of anything to do with The Bachelor or The Bachelorette being done without Chris Harrison is pretty surprising. Chris has been the host of the show from the very start and fans are used to him being there. Sean Lowe is a fan favorite, so it is not surprising that they brought him on, but leaving out Chris Harrison is something fans may never forgive. As long as they keep Chris around for the rest of the show in the Bachelor franchise, everything should work out okay.

Were you shocked to see that Chris Harrison was not hosting After Paradise? Do you think that ABC made the wrong decision? Sound off in the comments section below on your thoughts, and don’t miss new episodes of Bachelor in Paradise on Monday and Tuesday nights on ABC and also After Paradise on Tuesday nights.
