Bad Blood Redux: Taylor Swift Delays Album Because Of Katy Perry?

Should Taylor Swift be shaking in her boots because of Katy Perry’s upcoming album? Not only is her arch enemy dropping her own album that’s rumored to be filled with scathing diss tracks, but it may even push Taylor off the music charts.

According to a new report via Celebrity Dirty Laundry, Taylor Swift is having an existential crisis over the state of her music career. That’s due to all the controversy surrounding her ongoing feuds with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, and her new relationship with Tom Hiddleston. There are also rumors that Swift’s PR team is worried that her music career is going to flop if she waits another year to drop her new album.

But, Gossip Cop has since denied that rumor. Although Celebrity Dirty Laundry’s report is dated for Monday, Aug. 15, the outlet quashed the report on Saturday, Aug. 13. Either Gossip Cop is psychic, or Celebrity Dirty Laundry has published this story before.

Swift’s rep has denied the report, saying, “The Celebrity Dirty Laundry report is completely made up and 100 percent false.”

Fans shouldn’t expect a new Taylor Swift album anytime soon though. According to a report via Uproxx.com, one of Swift’s fans asked Big Machine Records, Swift’s label, on Twitter, if a new album was dropping by October 2016. Borchetta responded with a resounding, “NOPE” in a now-deleted tweet.

Swift may have nothing to worry about when it comes to dropping her new album. But, should she be worried about Katy Perry’s new album? The pop star has been working on her fifth studio album, and it’s been revealed that she’s working with writers who worked on Beyoncé’s hit songs. According to Digital Spy, Perry is working with hip-hop duo, Rae Sremmurd, who helped write Queen Bey’s hit song “Formation.”

“I wrote this track and she laid it and it’s pretty dope,” band member Swae Lee told Complex. “It sounded pretty dope. She got a lot of style.”

Don’t expect any more anthems like “Roar” and “Rise.” Perry last released her song “Rise” as the official song for NBC’s coverage of the 2016 Olympics.

Perry also took to Twitter to confirm that “Rise” is not the official debut single from her new album. It won’t even be featured on the album at all. The follow-up to Perry’s 2013 album, Prism, is expected to drop sometime later this year, but little is known about the album, including a track list, title, and release date.

There were also rumors that Perry was planning to start “WWIII” with her new album by releasing a diss track about Swift. According to a new rumor, Perry finished recording her song “Karma” and most of her new album will be about her ongoing feud with the “Bad Blood” singer.

“Katy has so many ideas – she just finished a song about karma and how trying to smear someone’s name can bite you. Pretty much the entire album is going to be aimed at Taylor, and it will be obvious who the songs are about. Katy is kind of starting a musical WWIII. Taylor infamously made an enemy of Katy with her song ‘Bad Blood’, and now that friends and fans alike are turning on Taylor in the wake of her drama with Kanye West, the ‘Rise’ singer is more than happy to capitalize on the pop star’s damaged image.”

Perry was last rumored to have registered the songs “Crocodile Tears,” “1984,” “She’s So Creepy,” “Last Cry,” and Victory,” about Swift. She has since denied those rumors on Twitter.

Gossip Cop has denied that rumor, as well. A source close to Perry says that this new report is a “wildly exaggerated” story.
