Kelly Ripa Co-Host: Does Husband Mark Consuelos Know Of New Anchor Pick?
The Kelly Ripa co-host contest is heating up in the homestretch. Is Kelly’s husband, former All My Children star Mark Consuelos, privy to Ripa’s co-host pick? Kelly’s spouse of 20 years has been out and about lately promoting his new film, Nine Lives, while graciously fielding questions from reporters about Ripa’s spirited co-host search.
Consuelos and Kelly are currently enjoying bicoastal living — Mark is in Los Angeles with two of the pair’s teenage children, son Michael and daughter Lola, while Ripa is holed up in New York (with their youngest son, 13-year-old Joaquin) working out her Live with Kelly co-host kinks. Does Consuelos know who Ripa’s final co-host winner is?
The question was obviously on everyone’s mind as Mark attended a recent red carpet event alongside co-star Ali Larter of the upcoming TV baseball drama, Pitch, set to premiere this fall on Fox. Does Mr. Kelly Ripa know anything about his bride’s co-host quest? AOL News did their best to cross-examine Consuelos of the co-host concern.
“I don’t know. I don’t know. I really don’t have a clue.”
Is Ripa’s husband being truthful of his awareness on the matter or simply deferring to his better half out of loyalty? A major entertainment announcement such as Kelly’s final choice of co-host would certainly be kept under wraps from the public and media until the allotted time, even if the key players involved were informed of the victor.
Regardless of rumored Kelly Ripa co-host developments, Mark and Ripa seem confidently indifferent to any scrutiny from the press. Two weeks ago, the superstar couple made a splash online when Kelly posted a video on Instagram of her and Consuelos’ “synchronized wrestling” routine in a pool. Asked by Entertainment Tonight about the viral clip for a Yahoo! TV exclusive, Mark said he picked up the wrestling move from his son:
“See, I took Joaquin to wrestling camp earlier that week and I learned a move — the Russian,” […] “It’s two-on-one, arm with the head in, and dunk back, and it worked.”
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Ripa announced her guest hosts for this week with interim co-anchors David Muir, actor Jussie Smollett, Half Baked‘s Guillermo Díaz, John Leguizamo, and fan-favorite fill-in host, Watch What Happens Live‘s Andy Cohen. Based on viewer conjecture, Cohen appears to be a frontrunner as Kelly’s co-host.
Will Kelly Ripa’s co-host be one of the forenamed entertainers? Andy Cohen’s cache with Live fans appears to equal their love for another frequent guest host of Ripa’s, former The Wonder Years star Fred Savage. Another fan-favored guest host is actor Jerry O’Connell. The viewer nail biting continues as Live devotees await Kelly’s co-host winner announcement, reportedly to be made public prior to her starting a new season this September.

As the reveal of Kelly’s future partner draws nigh, Ripa has already revealed her co-host guests for next week. Cohen rejoins Ripa on Monday, August 22, followed by the return of comedian Keegan-Michael Key on Tuesday, August 23. Newsman Anderson Cooper hooks up with Ripa on Wednesday, August 24, and Community star Joel McHale supports Kelly as host on Thursday and Friday, August 25 and 26.
