Miami: Grandmother Refuses To Drive Couple Home So They Can Have Sex, Gets Beaten Up

In a bizarre incident, and a rather sad one, a couple from Miami were arrested after they allegedly beat up an elderly woman over a rather unusual argument. According to the Miami Herald, the couple identified as 25-year-old Michael Rubio and his girlfriend, 27-year-old Jacquelyn Carrasquillo reportedly beat up Rubio’s grandmother after the elderly lady refused to drive the couple to a home where they planned to have sex.

According to police officials investigating the incident, the elderly woman, whose name has not been released, was driving Rubio and Jacquelyn in their car when an argument broke out between them. Rubio wanted his grandmother to drive him and Jacquelyn to the latter’s home – a demand which the elderly woman was in no mood to fulfill. The elderly woman remained adamant on not driving the couple home and eventually stopped the car near her home located near Southwest 188th Street and Southwest 197th Avenue and began walking towards her home. According to investigating officers, Rubio and his girlfriend, seeing the woman walk away, jumped out of the car and repeatedly struck several blows to her body and face. Rubio also threw the woman to the ground. After the attack, the couple simply walked towards the car and sped away. The elderly woman was later helped by local residents who took her to a local hospital.

Following the incident which happened on Thursday, an affidavit was filed by the elderly woman against the couple. Local police officers respond to the same and later interviewed Rubio’s grandmother at her home where she confirmed to them that she was indeed attacked by her own grandson and his girlfriend. Both Rubio and Jacquelyn were subsequently arrested by the police. The duo were charged with multiple counts, including robbery and battery on a person over 65. At the time of publishing this article. The duo were held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. The Inquisitr has managed to learn that Jacquelyn has had several trysts with the law in the past. She has been arrested in the past for offenses ranging from robbery, burglary, and solicitation. This is not the first time that we have heard of people mistreating elderly citizens. In the past too, the Inquisitr has reported about incidents of similar nature. Back in February this year, the Inquisitr reported about the case of a 94-year-old Alzheimer’s patient who was abused by her carer. Surveillance footage, secretly filmed by the woman’s daughter who suspected something was up with her mother’s caretaker showed the woman being viciously attacked. The shocking footage quickly went viral and was viewed more than a million times on different video-sharing sites, including YouTube. That incident reportedly happened in the Argentinian city of Buenos Aires.

Closer home, in the United States, there have been instances when own family members have turned killers – taking the lives of their loved ones. Back in 2015, The Inquisitr had reported about the case of a 22-year-old man from Birmingham, Alabama who killed his own mother after the duo had an argument over his grades. The man, later identified as Tyler Ryan Blansit himself called 911 and admitted to admitted to killing his 45-year-old mother. Evidence shows that the woman died of blunt force trauma to the head caused by a baseball bat. Following an investigation by police Tyler told them that he wasn’t pleased when the subject of his grades was repeatedly taken up by his mother.
