‘Big Brother 18’ Recap: Spoilers From August 11 Episode, ‘BB18’ House Has Double Eviction

This August 11 Big Brother 18 recap comes from Thursday night. This episode focused on the first BB18 double eviction of the summer, meaning two houseguests would be evicted from the game by the end of the night. It meant that after the first eviction took place, the houseguests would compete in a week’s worth of competitions to get to a second eviction ceremony. This episode of the show was aired by CBS on Thursday, August 11, at 9 p.m. PT/ET.

After about 10 minutes of “previously on Big Brother” footage, it became very clear that the BB18 house was about to turn on Paulie Calafiore in a big way. This was seen by viewers of the CBS live feeds, but it hadn’t been shown in full to the CBS TV viewers yet. Originally he had been working hard to get Zakiyah Everette evicted, but he switched that campaign to Michelle Meyer when he started thinking that Michelle was going to badmouth him in the house. It didn’t matter what Paulie wanted to do, though, as the rest of the house had figured out his game.

During the first eviction ceremony from this August 11 Big Brother 18 recap, the houseguests had to vote on Zakiyah Everette or Michelle Meyer. By a vote of 3-2, Zakiyah became the second member of the BB18 jury. James Huling, Natalie Negrotti, and Bridgette Dunning voted against Zakiyah. Nicole Franzel and Paulie Calafiore voted against Michelle during their turns. As the Care Package winner for the week, James was able to select two people who couldn’t vote, and he went with Corey Brooks and Paul Abrahamian.

The houseguests then participated in the first Head of Household competition for the evening, deciding who would be in power for less than an hour. In a backyard question and answer competition, it was Corey Brooks who emerged as HOH for the first time this summer. Corey then had to immediately name two people as eviction targets, getting very little help when he asked the rest of the guys for suggestions on nominations. At the nomination ceremony, Corey put Bridgette Dunning and Michelle Meyer on the block.

Participating in the Veto competition were Corey Brooks, Bridgette Dunning, Michelle Meyer, Nicole Franzel, James Huling, and Paul Abrahamian. Corey easily won the Veto competition, giving him the option to keep the nominations the same or make a huge game move. This is an opportunity that can turn an entire season and Corey had the power to completely shake things up in his favor.

Continuing with this August 11 Big Brother 18 recap, the Veto ceremony took place after another long commercial break by CBS. There was a quick discussion right before the Veto speeches (picture seen below), dictating how Corey Brooks was going to make his decision. After Michelle Meyer and Bridgette Dunning made their cases to remain in the game, Corey announced that he was not going to use the Veto. That took the BB18 house to the second eviction of the night, with the vote being to send Bridgette Dunning to the jury.

The night — and this August 11 Big Brother 18 recap — comes to an end with Zakiyah Everette and Bridgette Dunning becoming the second and third members of the BB18 jury. As for the second HOH competition, that will likely play out on the live feeds or get taped offline for the Sunday night episode on August 14.
