Taylor Swift’s new hairstyle is giving fans major throwback vibes. The 26-year-old has been spotted with curly hair over the weekend. It’s been years since fans seen Taylor Swift with curly hair. Does that mean that she’s going back to her country music roots?

Taylor Swift is looking a little fresher and younger these days. That’s because she’s been rocking the ultimate summer look in a season that’s filled with 90-degree days. Swift has been spotted wearing minimal makeup and curly hair, which makes her look years younger. Swift’s new curly ‘do has fans wondering if she’s going to release a new country music album.

Swift has been changing up her hairstyle a lot more lately. Ever since she cut her hair shortly after her split with One Direction star Harry Styles, she’s gotten a little more adventurous with it. Swift has since sported side-swept bangs, a blunt bob, and platinum blonde shaggy hair. Now, Swift is changing it up again by showing off her natural curls during her recent trip to the Hamptons, as seen in the photos below.

She even kept the style when she was spotted yet again in New York City. Swift’s fans are having major flashbacks to the time when she used to write pop-country hits.

According to a report via Today, Swift’s new look could mark the start of a new album era. But, Swift’s fans were looking forward to a rock-inspired breakup album ignited by her dramatic split with Calvin Harris. Swift showed off her new grunge-inspired look on the cover of Vogue and again at Coachella. Like most pop stars, Swift is known to change up her look to emulate her album’s aesthetic.

But, instead of getting a rock-inspired album, fans may find themselves with a country-inspired album. This isn’t the first time that Swift has changed up her look in the span of a few short months. Shortly after her split with Harris, Swift was seen rocking her signature red lipstick, oxford shoes and floral dresses when she embarked on her new romance with actor Tom Hiddleston, which had some reminded by her Red album era.

Now those fans are experiencing major whiplash since the singer-songwriter showed off her curls yet again when she posted her first video onto Instagram Stories. Swift was seen wearing a cat emblazoned sweatshirt and dancing along to Shawn Mendes’ “Treat You Better” in honor of his birthday and National Cat Day. Swift’s fans have been going crazy over her new look since.

“The fandom is shook!” wrote one of them on Twitter, according to the Daily Mail. Another one added that “We are freaking out about the curls!”

But, some speculate that Swift’s new look is an attempt to revamp her image in light of her feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. However, others still believe that it’s a sign that Swift will go back to her country music roots after the success of her first-ever pop album, 1989.

Fans previously assumed that Swift’s new curls meant that she was about to drop a new album this coming October. According to the singer’s discography, Swift releases a new album almost every two years like clockwork. It’s been two years since her last album came out.

One of those fans took to Twitter to speculate the release of her new album. Then Scott Borchetta, CEO of Swift’s label Big Machine Records, responded with a resounding “NOPE” in a now-deleted tweet, as previously reported via USA Today.

Swift has been dropping hints to various publications that she’s currently on an extended hiatus from writing music. Swift even told NME magazine that she wants to take a break after her 1989 World Tour, according to Perez Hilton.

“I think I should take some time off … I think people might need a break from me. I’m going to. I don’t know. Hang out with my friends. Write new music. Maybe not write new music. I don’t know.”
