WWE News: Major Real-Life Tension Breaking Out In McMahon Family, Shane And Stephanie Truly Competing?

When WWE Chairman Vince McMahon decided that the company would split up the rosters to make the brand split return, most fans were excited about it. The original split worked very well and ended up allowing a lot of young guys to get a shot at becoming major stars in the business. Jeff Hardy, Edge, Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero, Batista, Brock Lesnar, John Cena, and various others became World Champions due to the split, whereas before, they may have had to sit behind others like Triple H, Undertaker, The Rock, and others.

By 2011, the brand split was starting to fizzle out, and by 2013, it was not even really being used, as stars worked both shows a great deal. This pushed WWE to simply having one World Title, which signaled the complete end of the split if it was not already obvious at that time. Many were disappointed with how the split ended and even soured on the whole concept without even realizing how good it initially was for a good decade.

WWE is very high on it. While there have been some issues with the rosters, as WWE may switch a few names soon, the other side of it has been very good. WWE has sadly had some stiff competition this past week as the Olympic Games returned. WWE feels that the split is something they will stick to long-term, but some changes will be made once they settle into the fall. The real thing that everyone is discussing backstage may not even be the rosters, but rather the McMahon family.

We know by now that Stephanie McMahon became the commissioner of WWE RAW while Shane McMahon became the commissioner of WWE SmackDown Live. Vince said he wanted them to compete with each other, and the person who wins out just might get the keys to the kingdom, meaning WWE. Now, of course, Stephanie is the person WWE will end up going to along with Triple H. Shane is there for now and will be gone as a character after a while. WWE even had Stephanie take RAW and then stacked it in her favor just to give her an added edge.

Shane and Stephanie are said to be really competing, with both throwing out some punches here and there. In fact, with Talking Smack, SmackDown general manager Daniel Bryan has taken a number of shots at RAW. Whether it’s the way they use talent or their WWE Universal Championship, he has laid into them, and Shane has by no means kept quiet and has really pushed for his guys when possible. The rosters are also said to be very big on their show for the most part, and brand loyalty has been a pretty serious thing.

According to Daily Wrestling News, Vince is reportedly eating up all the real-life drama going on right now, as he really does want team blue and team red to compete to help make the entire company better. For the most part, it has worked, with both sides throwing out some really cool material. In fact, Vince has not been backstage at either RAW or SmackDown to make drama even bigger with both sides not having a filter as much.

Stephanie is said to still feel a bit betrayed by Shane coming back. This is mostly because he’s still around after WrestleMania 32 when he initially was only supposed to be around for the match with The Undertaker and that was supposed to be the end of it. While Shane clearly could leave at any point, he is loving the idea of being back on television each week. While Vince McMahon would offer his son a role in WWE again if he asked for it, Shane is fine with not being part of the management end of WWE right now.

Stephanie doesn’t seem to trust the situation at all, and the betrayal over Shane’s return is mostly there because she knows the longer he stays, the more likelihood he’ll take on a role within the WWE again. It makes sense, as Vince would love to have his son back with the company. If he can get him to stay, he will do so. That would certainly threaten Stephanie’s clear run to the top.

DWN reports that the Shane vs. Stephanie McMahon drama will pick up on television toward the start of 2017 with a big blow-off reportedly happening by WrestleMania 33. The Inquisitr also reported that plans are to do something with Triple H and Shane to end things, but it seems Triple H doesn’t want to work with Shane at all. This means a lot could get interesting within WWE as we move forward.
