Katrina Pierson And Kate Snow Spar Over Trump’s Second Amendment Comment

Donald Trump spokeswoman Katrina Pierson went on MSNBC hosted by Kate Snow to discuss Trump’s second amendment comment.

The Republican nominee suggested at a campaign rally that second amendment people can act against Hillary Clinton.

After ranting about Hillary Clinton wanting to take people’s guns away and abolish the second amendment, Trump stated the following.

“If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks,” Donald Trump said, then the crowed reacted with boos. He continued: “Although the Second Amendment people — maybe there is, I don’t know.”

Many people perceived these comments to mean that Donald Trump was calling for Hillary Clinton’s assassination. However, others, such as House Speaker Paul Ryan, stated that it was a “joke gone bad,” and Katrina Pierson stated that Trump was telling second amendment supports to go vote.

“The NRA is a bipartisan organization,” Pierson stated. “And that is also left out of the discussion in the media, considering how there are even Democrats who won’t touch gun legislation in an election year because the NRA has been able to take out Democrats as well.”

Kate Snow quipped back stating that Donald Trump’s comment assumes Hillary Clinton is the President and the voters cannot do anything at that point before suggesting that gun owners could.

“No one is even talking about the power of the NRA,” Pierson replied. “They have been able to stop senators from appointing people that are hostile towards the Second Amendment. And that’s what he’s talking about.”

Kate Snow then played a soundbite from the former director of the NSA and CIA in which he slams Trump’s comments. He goes on to say if someone else said the equivalent of Trump’s second amendment comment they probably would be arrested. The former General concludes “You are not only responsible for what you say, you are responsible for what people hear.”

Snow then questions Pierson on Trump’s responsibility for what people hear. Trump’s spokeswoman deflects by talking about Hillary Clinton’s alleged assassination comments about Barack Obama in 2008.

Snow tries to bring Pierson back on topic, and she replies that Trump’s comments are being “reinforced by the media,” and she suggests that it was no different from his other campaign rallies.

Kate Snow then talks about the impact Trump’s comments could have if he were president:

“If his words are misinterpreted as president, he will not get a do over as president of the United States,” Snow continues. “I think that’s what a lot of people are reacting to here. You don’t get a do over.”

Katrina Pierson then deflects and talks about Hillary Clinton’s actions at the State Department. Snow then asks her if she is concerned about his ability as President and if he will say things that can be misinterpreted by foreign leaders if he becomes President.

“He wasn’t talking about policy,” Pierson replied. “He wasn’t talking about implementation of policy. He was talking about what would happen if Hillary Clinton were to be elected and he was absolutely right.”

Kate Snow is stunned by the comment and takes several seconds to reply:

“I’m speechless because I’m trying to follow your logic here, Katrina, and I’m having a hard time.”

The MSNBC host is puzzled as to how Pierson can see the difference between things said in a public campaign rally and what he will do when he is president.

Trump’s spokeswoman deflects again speaking about Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton’s alleged lies about Benghazi.

The host gives up and changes topic to Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton’s strategy with swing state votes.

Donald Trump is currently behind Clinton on almost all the polls. Many political commentators doubt that Trump can close the gap coming into the November elections based on historical polling trends.
