Kim Kardashian & Taylor Swift’s Latest Feud: Inside Their Battle For The Cover Of ‘Vogue’

Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift are allegedly about to go head-to-head again, but this time, their drama isn’t over Kanye West.

According to reports, Kim and Taylor are now set to battle it out to land the cover of Vogue magazine in what’s being billed as “the ultimate popularity contest.”

Radar Online is claiming that both Kardashian and Swift are being considered to cover an upcoming issue of the prestigious fashion magazine following their scathing feud and are both are now doing all they can to try to win over editor Anna Wintour.

Kardashian and Swift have notably both covered the fashion magazine before, but they know that whoever lands the cover that’s now up for grabs will score major points when it comes to their notorious feud.

The site recently reported that Vogue editor and her daughter Katherine “Bee” Shaffer “are struggling to decide” on who’s side to take in Kardashian and Swift’s feud, but they know that whoever they chose will win the “ultimate popularity contest.”

“The race is on for Taylor and Kim to win favor with Anna and they’re neck and neck,” the site alleged of Taylor and Kim’s latest war.

Kim famously covered the April 2014 issue of the famous fashion magazine alongside husband Kanye, but Radar Online’s insider claimed that West’s controversial “Famous” music video, which featured a Taylor doppelganger, may have put Kardashian out of favor with the Vogue mogul.

The site reported that Anna “has gone cool on Kimye after his tasteless ‘Famous’ video,” but she knows that putting Kim on the cover instead of Swift would bring a whole lot of attention to the magazine.

“She’s reluctant to close the door on the couple because [Kardashian and West’s] Vogue cover was one of their biggest-selling issues in history,” an insider admitted.

As for Taylor’s chances of besting Kim for the Vogue cover amid their feud, the site reported that Swift has a solid chance of being chosen by Anna, despite Swift only just appearing on the front of the magazine this past April, because Wintour could well decide to make a statement and kick Kardashian to the curb.

“Even though they just had Taylor on the cover it’s going to be one of those things where Anna can let her support be known in the most passive aggressive way possible,” the source admitted of the latest Kardashian and Swift battle, “which is exactly how she likes it.”

Anna Wintour has long been reported to have a pretty tumultuous relationship with both Kim Kardashian and Kanye West and faced a whole lot of backlash after featuring Kim and Kanye on the magazine’s April cover two years ago.

Radar Online claimed earlier this year that Vogue employees weren’t exactly thrilled with Wintour’s decision to have Kardashian and West as cover stars and also don’t like that Kim and Kanye are often featured on Vogue.com.

Vogue.com was the arbiter of style and class. Featuring Kim and Kanye on the website is just horrible for the brand,” a source said before Kardashian’s feud with Swift boiled over once again last month.

“There was so much backlash after the April issue that the coverage should have been dialled back,” the site’s source continued of Vogue’s Kardashian coverage. “It has only increased — just because Kim and Kanye are shameless self-promoters doesn’t mean Vogue.com needs to jump on the bandwagon!”

But despite the backlash, Anna defended her decision in a 2014 interview with Fashionista, serving Kim and Kanye a pretty backhanded compliment after referring to them as being popular but “deeply distasteful.”

“I think if we just remain deeply tasteful and just put deeply tasteful people on the cover, it would be a rather boring magazine,” Anna said of Kardashian and West’s Vogue appearance when asked about the couple’s photoshoot and interview.

“Nobody would talk about us,” Wintour continued. “It’s very important that people do talk about us.”

As for Taylor, Anna has been a little more complimentary about Swift in the past.

Speaking to Fashionista following Swift’s April cover this year, Wintour described Taylor as being a “beautiful, beautiful girl.”

“We thought that we could take Taylor — who is a beautiful, beautiful girl but has been a little bit more conservative in her fashion choices — and turn her into an Hedi Slimane rock n’ roll girl,” Anna said of Taylor’s photo shoot for the fashion magazine. “[Swift] was completely up for it and loved it, and is going to hopefully continue with this look.”

Anna also showed her approval for Taylor after choosing her to co-chair the 2016 MET Gala this past May, which Kim and Kanye both attended.

“[Taylor] called me back within minutes and said she would be thrilled,” the Vogue mogul said.
