Miranda Kerr’s Fiancé Evan Spiegel Completely Supports Her Eco-Friendly Lifestyle

One can only imagine how busy the schedule is of Snapchat’s founder, but nothing can stop Miranda Kerr’s fiancé Evan Spiegel from lavishing his lady love with thoughtful gifts. Gracing the cover of Harper Bazaar’s September issue, the mother of one revealed Spiegel’s present for her eco-friendly Malibu home: a special machine created by Island Sky that gathers the air’s humidity and converts it into potable water.

The machine is called an “atmospheric water generator.” The Florida-based company’s mission is to help alleviate the world’s water crisis – an advocacy the former Victoria’s Secret model surely supports.

“This property was a dust bowl when I bought it and now it’s so green. Obviously I’m aware of the drought problem in California. This [Skywater 300] system really just pulls water out of the sky. It was a very thoughtful present because he knows how much I love a garden.”

While Kerr immediately fell in love with the property, she admitted it needed an overhaul.

“I knew that this house was it at first sight. It needed a lot of work, but it had a great view. It wasn’t right on the water, so it was protected from the wind and very private. I could just see the potential. It felt so right. In some ways it felt like a tree house. That was another thing that I loved. It’s all open, and the view of the ocean makes it feel more spacious.”

Prior to relocating to Malibu, she used to share a New York abode with former beau Orlando Bloom. She opted to make the move to provide her son Flynn a “better lifestyle” that would allow him to play outside and explore the nature’s wonders.

As to what inspired her to have such a type of house, she credited her lengthy stay at her grandmother’s house where “people were coming in and out.”

“She was always in the kitchen making something. There was always food and snacks. She would play the piano, and we would sing and dance. So those were my two priorities. I wanted to have a piano and a great kitchen, which is always the heart of the home.”

Bloom also owns a property in Malibu and intends to stay there whenever possible. Despite Bloom and Kerr’s divorce in 2013, the two remain friends and are determined to stay close for their son. They previously told the press they’re “co-parenting.”

The Pirates of the Caribbean actor is now dating Katy Perry. He reportedly expressed joy over Kerr’s recent engagement to the tech mogul. “Orlando knows that Evan treats Flynn well so that’s all that matters to him,” an insider told E! News.

Three weeks ago, Kerr confirmed the news to her nine million Instagram followers. Her post also unveiled some of Snapchat’s recently introduced features. The feature “Memories,” for example, gives users the capability to directly upload a photo from their phone’s photo album or camera roll.

The photo also demonstrated Bitmoji in action. Snapchat acquired the company last March to allow users to create personalized emojis.

Both Kerr and Spiegel come from humble origins that would explain their support for each other’s endeavors. While Spiegel’s parents are high-profile lawyers, their divorce prompted him to forge his own path. He dropped out of Stanford University in 2012, a few credits shy from graduating, to focus on Snapchat.

Kerr, on the other hand, joined a magazine model search contest in 1997 at the age of 13. She then went on to become one of Forbes’ consistent highest earning models. She also launched her own brand of organic skincare products, KORA, and penned a self-help book.
