Wikileaks Julian Assange Suggests Seth Rich Was Murdered For Leaking DNC Emails, Offers $20K Reward For Info On Death

The head of Wikileaks, Julian Assange, has implied that DNC staffer Seth Rich may have been murdered for his role in leaking DNC emails. The 20,000 leaked emails provided evidence that the Democratic National Committee was favoring and even pushing for Hillary Clinton despite their obligation to remain neutral in the party’s primaries. The emails showcased numerous occasions in which the committee attempted to sabotage Bernie Sanders, and one email even suggested, and she is now working directly for the Hillary Clinton campaign.

According to the Daily Mail, in an interview with a Dutch television station, Assange seemed to imply that the murdered DNC staffer Seth Rich was a whistleblower working with Wikileaks. Assange noted that “our whistleblowers go to significant efforts to get us material and often very significant risks” before discussing Rich’s mysterious death on the streets of D.C.

The death of Seth Rich has caused a lot of controversy as the police deemed the murder a botched robbery. However, none of Rich’s belongings were found missing. In fact, Rich reportedly had a wallet with cash, a cell phone, and a watch in his possession at the time of the purported botched robbery, but nothing was taken by the murderer.

Additionally, Rich was on the phone with his girlfriend just before the murder took place. While on the phone call, the girlfriend says that she heard some scuffling. In response, she claims she asked Rich if he was okay, and he responded, “don’t worry.” Many have speculated that Rich’s “don’t worry” response indicated that the murderer was someone he knew, not a random robber.

The timing of the murder has also caused many to wonder if the DNC staffer was murdered for other reasons. The idea that Seth Rich was one of Wikileaks whistleblowers was only furthered when Assange offered a $20,000 reward for information leading to a conviction in the DNC staffer’s murder. The $20,000 reward would be equivalent to $1 per DNC email that was leaked to the public.

To further the speculation, some internet sleuths have claimed that there is evidence that Rich was on his way to speak with the FBI about a case involving the Clinton family when he was shot down.

Meanwhile, Seth Rich’s family says that the allegations that their son was a Wikileaks whistleblower are “bizarre.” While the father says he hopes that the $20,000 reward will help solve the murder of Seth, he says he is not playing “Wikileaks game.”

“I don’t think I want to comment. I hope the additional money helps find out who did this. I don’t want to play Wikileaks’ game.”

What do you think about Julian Assange’s statements regarding Seth Rich’s death and subsequent reward offering? Do you think Assange revealed that Rich was one of the whistleblowers or was he simply deflecting attention from the real source of the leaks?
