Blake Shelton Planning To Propose To Gwen Stefani On ‘The Voice’ [Report]

Blake Shelton could be planning to propose to Gwen Stefani live on NBC’s The Voice.

According to a new report by Radar Online, those behind the scenes of the show know that an on-air proposal between Blake and Gwen would send ratings through the roof, and so they are encouraging Shelton to pop the question as the cameras roll.

“Executives are really pushing for an on air engagement,” an insider alleged to the site, claiming that Blake could see a pretty hefty pay check coming his way if he agrees to propose to Gwen on the show.

“They told them both last season that there would be a huge bonus for them if they agreed to get engaged on the show,” the source claimed, “and, of course, the offer still stands.”

Blake and The Voice are yet to speak out about the engagement rumors, though Gwen will notably not be by Shelton’s side when Season 11 of the series kicks off next month.

The NBC singing show will actually be welcoming two new faces to the competition to sit alongside veteran coaches Shelton and Adam Levine in the form of Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys, which could mean Blake’s potential on-air proposal could hit a bit of a snag.

If Blake does decide to pop the question to Stefani on camera, it’s possible that his girlfriend could make a guest appearance on the show, though Radar Online’s insider admitted that Shelton could just as easily push back his proposal plans until season 12 kicks off in February 2017.

NBC have yet to confirm who will be forming the coaching panel for season 12, though the site revealed that Shelton has already made it known that he’d like Gwen to be by his side on the coaching team should he choose to return next year.

“[Blake] is already asking them to bring Gwen back for season 12,” a source said of Shelton, “and season 11 hasn’t even started yet!”

While an on-air proposal may seem farfetched for Blake and Gwen, both have spoken out in the past about how important The Voice is in the story of their relationship.

Blake Shelton recently spoke out to Billboard about how he and Gwen found love after meeting on the NBC series back in 2014, confessing that he “never really got to know” Stefani when they first met on the show until the two confided in each other that they were splitting with their respective spouses, Miranda Lambert and Gavin Rossdale.

“I won’t forget that day,” Shelton told the magazine of the day he broke the news of his divorce to his fellow The Voice coaches on the set. “I looked over at Gwen — who I didn’t really know — and she had these huge tears in her eyes. I thought, ‘Wow, she feels super bad for me!'”

“Next thing I know, I wake up and she’s all I care about,” Blake continued to the magazine prior to the proposal rumors, “and I’m wondering if she feels the same about me.”

Shelton and Stefani have also been bombarded with engagement rumors over the past few weeks, with a slew of reports claiming that a proposal from Blake could be imminent.

Us Weekly most recently confirmed that Blake and Gwen are now making marriage a “priority” amid the engagement rumors, admitting that Shelton and Stefani regularly discuss what their wedding and life together as a married couple could be like.

“They say things like, ‘When we get married’ all the time,” a source close to Blake and Stefani confessed to the site amid the swirling engagement reports. “They have plans for their future together and have talked about where they will live and the possibility of more children.”

The site’s insider also confirmed that Blake “has a plan” when it comes how and when he’ll propose to Stefani, but isn’t revealing the details on his big engagement plans just yet.
