Tim Tebow’s ‘Vogue’ Spread A Source Of Jokes For His Fellow Jets

Tim Tebow isn’t shy when it comes to cameras, but the New York Jets quarterback might have gone a little too far with his latest media splash, a spread in Vogue. At least, that’s what his teammates think.

His teammates have used the photo spread as a chance to make fun of Tebow, who appears to be taking the ribbing in stride, ESPN.com reported.

“Yeah, Bart (Scott) is usually the loud one about stuff like this,” Tebow said. “It’s pretty funny.”

To be fair to Scott, Tebow’s pictures are pretty ridiculous for a football player. As ESPN.com notes, the first shot of the Annie Liebovitz series features Tebow rolling a tire along rocky terrain. Shirtless, of course.

Jets coach Rex Ryan has stood up for Tebow.

“Bart’s just probably upset he wasn’t in it, in Vogue,” Ryan said. “That will be next maybe.”

But in the interview that went along with the article, Tim Tebow got serious, telling Vogue about the kind of woman he is looking for:

“I’ve been blessed to have an amazing mom and two amazing sisters—so they set a very high standard. Obviously looks play a big part. Being attracted to someone plays a big part, but there’s also so much more than that for me. It’s about finding someone sweet and kind—and that has a servant’s heart. It’s about finding a girl who likes me for me, and not because of what I do or who I am or the name.”

Tim Tebow probably won’t be getting any grief from at least one of his teammates. When he was a rookie, starting quarterback Mark Sanchez posed for GQ magazine, though he didn’t escape the ribbing either — someone on the team put the pictures from the spread as backdrops for all of the digital screens in the Jets facility.
