It was only a short while that President Barack Obama was criticized for not raising his hand over his heart during the national anthem. Now it looks like he has a few famous friends with their hands over their hearts in support of his “For All” campaign.

The campaign, which is called “For All” is a rip on Christian Francies Bellamy’s Pledge of Allegiance’s specific line, “with liberty, and justice for all.” This campaign promotes the equality for all, as stars such as Natalie Portman, Don Cheadle, Zach Braff, and Jessica Alba, are seen with the scribbled writing “gender equality” on their hand posed over their hearts. This pledge explains why some people are voting for President Obama in the next election, as he announced that after opening his belief system that he believes in the rights for same-sex marriage.

Jessica Alba in particular is no stranger to speaking out about her political stance, saying in a 2006 interview with Elle magazine that she went as far as to give up her Catholic beliefs because she “vehemently disagreed with the church’s condemnations of premarital sex and homosexuality.” In an e-mail blast to Barack Obama supporters, Alba explained her involvement in the “For All” campaign and that her hand over her heart signifies, “A promise to be involved and engaged in this country’s future. A promise to work for liberty and justice — and for affordable education, health care, and equality — for all.”

Academy Award winner Natalie Portman is also someone who has expressed her beliefs in the President. In fact, she traveled to Cincinnati for an Obama event, and addressed a women’s rights crowd in support of the 2012 election. At the event she said of why she was there, “We need to stand up for ourselves. Our mothers and our grandmothers made giant steps for us. We can’t go backwards. We need to go forwards.”
