‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 8: Who Should Get A Happy Ending? Most ‘TVD’ Characters To Have Tragic Endings? [Spoilers]

The Vampire Diaries is ending after Season 8. It was a sad announcement, but nothing can last forever. At Comic-Con 2016, a lot of TVD spoilers were released. The CW series is known for not being kind with its characters, and the final season probably won’t be any different. Out of all of the characters, which one should get the happy ending?

There are spoilers, rumors, and theories for The Vampire Diaries Season 8 ahead. If you do not want to know any details about what could happen, then stop reading right now.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, expect a lot of old faces to return to The CW television show. In an interview at Comic-Con, executive producer Julie Plec said they would be saying hello to some and goodbye to others. Nina Dobrev promised to return to The Vampire Diaries before the Season 8 finale. Plec confirmed that nothing has been set in stone yet, but she is doing everything to make sure it happens. If this season is going to be the last for TVD, then that means all of the loose ends need to be tied up. That includes Elena Gilbert.

The last time Dobrev was on the show, Elena was in a 60-year slumber. The twist was that if she woke up, then Bonnie Bennett (Kat Graham) was dead. Their lives are connected and it seems there is no way around it. The writers could make some sort of loophole so Elena and Bonnie could reunite. However, Graham said that the friends already had their closure.

Going into Season 8 of The Vampire Diaries, fans are hoping that everyone will live happily ever after. However, it was stated at the comic book convention that not everyone will end up with a happy ending. Hearing this, viewers are hoping that at least one person has a positive ending. Actors Matt Davis and Zach Roerig agreed, according to Buddy TV.

There are a lot of people rooting for Bonnie and Enzo (Michael Malarkey). Graham’s character has been through so much over the seasons. Last season, she finally found the love of her life. Unfortunately, he was taken over by the creature in the vault, just like Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder). This means that Bonnie lost not one, but two important people as well as her magic. Talk about a triple whammy.

Season 8 of The Vampire Diaries is not going to get any easier for Bonnie, either. In an interview with TVLine, executive producer Julie Plec said Graham’s character will be paralyzed by what has happened. However, fans know that Bonnie Bennett is strong and determined. She will probably be thinking of how to save Damon and Enzo, even if it puts her own life in danger. Will she succeed and if so, will “Benzo” live happily ever after?

As for Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) and Caroline Forbes (Candice King), “Steroline” fans are hoping the two can finally be happy. Their relationship has gone through some turbulence in the past few years. Even though Caroline was angry with Stefan, she finally accepted her real feelings and Alaric (Matt Davis) gave his blessing. It was an amazing moment when Stefan and Caroline kissed. What is known about Steroline in Season 8 of The Vampire Diaries is that the premiere will begin with a steamy moment between the two. Before trying to find Damon and Enzo, the two will have some time for romance.

Prior to Comic-Con, Candice King said she expects Stefan and Caroline to have a bumpy ride in Season 8. Even though the two love each other, there will be some twists and turns. According to TV Guide, a woman will be attracted to Stefan Salvatore. This isn’t an ordinary person, though. She is powerful and uses questionable methods to get what she wants. Is she an immortal who can control minds or a witch that will cast a spell on Stefan? Let’s hope that he stays strong and focuses on Caroline and that they won’t be torn apart again.

What about Alaric (Matt Davis), who seems to be unlucky in love? He has lost pretty much every woman he has ever had feelings for. Jo was murdered on their wedding day and she was pregnant with twins. Then, he got together with Caroline, who ended up giving birth to the Gemini twins, but he knew her heart belonged to Stefan. It was reported that a nanny named Seline is coming to the show. The character will be caring for two children and know something about the supernatural. It is assumed that the nanny will be looking after Alaric’s daughters. Could she and Alaric end up together and if so, will they get a happy ending?

Finally, there is Damon and Elena, dubbed “Delena” by TVD fans. Somerhalder’s character has dealt with Elena’s “sleep” in various ways but really hasn’t accepted it. He isn’t interested in moving on and is determined to wait for Nina Dobrev’s character. This is exactly what caused Damon to get sucked in by the creature inside the vault. It mimicked Elena’s voice and that is what drew the elder Salvatore brother closer to the monster. It would be nice if Delena could reunite, but what would be the cost? Bonnie’s life or something more? Is their happiness more valuable than the lives of others?
