Worst NFL uniforms ever

This time of year my email inbox gets filled up with press releases about new teams, new uniforms, or new throwback uniforms for hockey, basketball, and football teams. For the most part a lot of these jersey color schemes are excellent and one can tell that a lot of time and research went into those decisions. It got me wondering about what were the worst uniforms worn in the different major American sports. Over the next couple of days we are going to be taking a look at some of the worst team uniform decisions ever made.

Today we start with the NFL and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The above uniform scheme was the home uniforms of the Bucs from their inception in 1976 till 1996 when the football gods finally changed the Bucs from the creamsicles of the past into a legit Super Bowl contender.

These uniforms are terrible, they look terrible in person and even worse on TV. I really wonder who though this was a good idea. In these uniforms the Bucs started off their existence going o-26, to this day the record for most consecutive loses by a NFL team ever.

In 1997 the Bucs changed their color scheme to the current Red and Pewter that is such an improvement over the old Orange and White. Sometimes a teams uniform can reflect a state of despair, for the creamsicle Buccaneers that was surly the case.
