Black Guns Matter Founder Weighs In On Hillary Clinton And Gun Control

The founder of Black Guns Matter apparently believes that Hillary Clinton should disarm her bodyguards if she is being consistent about advancing a gun control agenda.

Maj Toure seemed to suggest that firearms are essential to the American culture, and the right to keep and bear arms was enshrined by the Founding Fathers in the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Philadelphia-based Black Guns Matter was created to advocate for responsible gun ownership and firearms training and safety for ordinary citizens in urban areas. Toure claims that in Philadelphia, and elsewhere, an unfair stigma is attached to carrying a gun that classifies such individuals as either cops or bad guys.

“Toure, 29, is a local activist and artist. In many ways, he’s also a walking, talking contradiction of what turns out to be an increasingly stereotypical idea of gun owners. Toure is a young African American man who grew up in North Philadelphia watching the destruction caused by gun violence, but who nonetheless was attracted to firearms, and became an official, dues-paying NRA member and legal gun owner,” Philly.com explained.

When asked by a Rebel Pundit videographer how he felt about the Democrat Party’s position on guns, Toure replied that “I think anybody has the right to be as foolish as they want to be.”

In the interview conducted outside the recent DNC convention in Philadelphia that nominated Hillary Clinton as its presidential standard-bearer, Maj Toure asserted to Rebel Pundit that “elites” seek to disarm the black community. When asked if he felt that gun ownership makes such communities safer, he unhesitatingly replied in the affirmative.

“I don’t feel, I know…most violent crime is not committed by card-carrying good guys and card-carrying good girls — firearm owners. We’re very technical people because if you do this wrong, you get your hand blown off or your head blown off. So we’re very technical, pay-attention-to-detail, by-the-book people. And we respect the law.”

Toure of Black Guns Matter noted that Hillary Clinton and others at high echelons of government receive around-the-clock protection by armed security details. With that in mind, “If you want to put your money where your mouth is, give your security detail mace,” he declared, and that U.S. citizens who are licensed and receive appropriate firearms education should also be able to exercise their Second Amendment rights similar to the way the officers do.

The implementation of additional gun control regulations is one of the cornerstones of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.

According to her website, if elected president Hillary Clinton intends to expand background checks for gun sales, minimize the influence of the gun lobby, and prevent domestic abusers, mentally ill persons, and violent criminals from accessing weapons, and that she has a track record of advocating for common-sense ways to reduce gun violence. “She will also support work to keep military-style weapons off our streets.”

As First Lady and former First Lady of the U.S., Hillary Clinton has been entitled to Secret Service protection since 1992. Before that, she was likely often accompanied by state troopers while her husband, Bill Clinton, was governor of Arkansas. Billionaire businessman Michael Bloomberg, who endorsed Hillary Clinton in a convention speech, and who funds several prominent national gun control groups, similarly benefited from protection by armed NYPD detectives while serving three terms as mayor of New York City.

In a June television interview, Hillary Clinton seemed to dodge answering a question as to whether the right of individuals to own guns is protected by the U.S. Constitution.

“If more people were educated about firearms, black-on-black crime and clashes with cops would go down,” Maj Toure reportedly told the Independent Journal Review. In an interview with the Guns.com website last month, Toure argued that the powers that be are making a deliberate attempt “to make sure that people in the hood don’t have firearms.” He also declared that gun control laws began emerging after the emancipation of slaves in the U.S.

Separately, in an undercover video released by controversial muckraker James O’Keefe, a Hillary Clinton foe, an alternate delegate to the Democratic National Convention supposedly reveals that Hillary Clinton’s real end game is to ban all guns. The video has received about 500,000 hits on YouTube so far.

“Toure knows the Black Guns Matter idea is probably going to be a tough sell, especially in a city where many feel guns, legal or not, just lead to more gun violence. But he said being anti-gun shouldn’t translate into being anti-education, especially when it could save lives,” Philly.com added.
