Sharon Osbourne Talks About Ozzy’s Sex Addiction On ‘The View’

Sharon Osbourne, one of five co-hosts of The View, spoke about husband Ozzy Osbourne’s sex addiction on Wednesday’s show, and she couldn’t keep back the tears. Sharon was obviously uncomfortable talking about it, saying that it’s an addiction that is uncomfortable to talk about.

“Somehow drugs and drink is more acceptable, but when it’s somebody that has a sex addiction it’s embarrassing. [But] I’m proud that he’s come out and admitted it finally.”

As reported by E! Online, Sharon confirmed that Ozzy has already been working hard at his recovery. Tears came when Osbourne explained that he has a long way to go.

“He’s been an outpatient for sex addiction for the last three months. And after the tour—he’s starting his summer tour with Black Sabbath—after the tour he goes into in patient for three months. He’s working at it. It’s hard because it affects the whole family.”

Fellow View co-hosts reassured Sharon, telling her that Ozzy’s sex addiction is not a reflection on her. Osbourne expressed her gratitude, saying that she didn’t know what she would have done without the support of each of them, support Sharon says she has found “amazing.” This was followed by an acknowledgement that his addiction had been around for six years. It was at this point that Sharon asked that they change the subject.

Sharon and Ozzy have been married for 33 years. As reported by People, the couple announced in May that they would be splitting because of a four-year affair that Ozzy had with his former hair colorist, Michelle Pugh. The two recently announced, however, that they were back together and were going to fight to keep their marriage together.

Sharon Osbourne’s teary words about her marriage came on the same day that People reported on an interview they had with Ozzy’s former mistress. She claims that her affair with Osbourne was true love. Pugh claims that he began pursuing her in 2012, about a year after she first colored his hair.

“When I say he gave me the greatest love of my life, I mean it… He made me feel like the most beautiful and worshipped woman in the world.”

Ozzy’s reps came out against this statement and confirmed his addiction.

“He is sorry if Ms. Pugh took their sexual relationship out of context… He would like to apologize to the other women he has been having sexual relationships with. Since his relationship with Ms. Pugh was exposed, Ozzy has gone into intense therapy.”

Pugh went on to say that Ozzy told her he was unhappy in his marriage to Sharon. She stated that she and Osbourne had a chemistry between them that neither of them could deny. She goes on to say that what she had with Osbourne, however, was more than physical.

“My relationship was more with this really nice, sweet, funny and cool guy… John from England.”

She describes conversations she and Osbourne had about their shared passions for things like history, painting, and current events. She also confirmed that she is no longer in contact with Osbourne and says that the feeling of his absence in her life is “horrible.”

Through the statement they made to People, the Osbournes’ rep stresses the importance and strength of the love and support between Sharon and Ozzy.

“Ozzy is mortified at what his behavior has done to his family. He thanks God that his incredible wife Sharon is at his side to support him.”
