Is Britney Spears Ready For Love? Singer Is Optimistic Despite History Of ‘Horrible’ Relationships

Is Britney Spears ready to find love again? The pop singer has had a tumultuous history with love while in the limelight, but that isn’t stopping her from being open to finding real love.

That said, Spears does recognize that she has had her own history of horrible relationships in her life. While speaking with 104.1, Spears opened up about her optimistic side despite her trouble with love.

“Unfortunately I am…I am a hopeless romantic. I believe in love. I’ve been through horrible relationships, but unfortunately, I still believe in love and that sort of thing.”

She continued, “I think you should protect your heart and stuff like that. But yeah I am a hopeless romantic. I believe in love.”

Her first public relationship was with fellow Mouseketeer and NSYNC frontman Justin Timberlake. After a few years, the two fizzled out. Justin Timberlake went on to create his first solo album, with many songs hinting at the reason behind their demise.

Timberlake’s “Cry Me a River” got the attention of many fans due to the lyrics that insinuated Spears had cheated on him. Timberlake’s video, which features a Spears lookalike, added more fuel to the fire. Follow that by an exclusive interview with Barbara Walters, which showed Timberlake tearing up about the split, and Britney had to deal with the fallout. Spears had her side of the story and sat down with Diane Sawyer. While neither interview was too revealing, Spears did break down during her interview, admitting that she was “sad.”

Following that relationship, Spears had one of the quickest gunshot weddings in history. She wound up marrying Jason Alexander, a friend from her past, in Las Vegas for 55 hours before their marriage was annulled.

Soon after, she met and fell in love with backup dancer Kevin Federline, who she married in 2004 and was with for years before they decided to divorce in 2007. The couple had two sons together: Jayden James Federline, 9, and Sean Preston Federline, 10.

Federline recently said that his marriage to Spears was “overwhelming” due to the media blitz that constantly circled their marriage.

In an interview with VLAD TV, Federline said, “Obviously, things didn’t work out the way that they were supposed to, but everything’s OK, you know, like, life happens.”

Of the scrutiny their marriage received in the press, Federline said, “That was a whole different lifestyle than I ever imagined. I mean, just getting around from place to place and having 20 people follow you all day long — your whole life kind of being told through somebody else’s eyes. Everybody wants to put their own spin on it. It was so crazy. I look back at it and it’s like, at times it was so overwhelming.”

After her divorce from Federline, it took a while for the singer to find love again due to health issues that she dealt with. After a year of dating paparazzo Adnan Ghalib, Spears seemed to have found a steady love with music manager Jason Trawick. The two dated for four years and became engaged, but they called it quits in 2013.

That same year, Spears met David Lucado, who she was on and off with until Spears discovered he had cheated on her. Lucado has since denied allegations and said they were “on a break.” Soon after, Britney moved on to film and television producer Charlie Ebersol, but that ended after eight months.

Sources at the time told People Magazine, “Everyone thought he might end up asking her to marry him. It just faded away, and they moved apart.”

Since Ebersol, Spears hasn’t been in a serious relationship, but she seems like she’s been focusing on work. The entertainer has her own residency in Las Vegas and just released her new single “Make Me,” which features rapper G-Eazy.
