Britney Spears Says She Never Met Taylor Swift Contrary To Photo Evidence Proving She Met Her Twice

Britney Speaks has been slaying it lately. With a new album coming out next month, the original pop princess is primed and ready to remind the world once again why she dominated the pop music scene during the 90s. To top it off, she’s looking better than ever.

Having a new album to promote necessitates Spears to make numerous appearances. As such, Spears showed up for an interview on the Kyle and Jackie O Show on Australia’s KIIS 106.5 FM radio show. The radio interview, however, turned awkwrd when host Jackie O asked Britney whom she’d prefer to take a 24-hour flight to Sydney with between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry, as previously reported by Vanity Fair.

Realizing how Jackie O’s question had put Spears in an awkward spot, co-host Kylie laughed out loud and said, “Why do that to her? You’re evil, Jackie.”

“I don’t know! I don’t know, that’s hard,” Spears said, clearly taken aback by the question. “They’re both so cool, I don’t know. I’ve briefly met Katy Perry at the ‘Smurfs’ movie premiere. Maybe because I’ve met Katy Perry I would say Taylor Swift, because I’ve never met her before.”

But contrary to evidence, Spears did meet Taylor Swift not once, but twice. Oops.

Was Spears’ answer a deliberate attempt to shade Swift?

Probably not. After all, Spears sounded earnest and sincere in her response to the awkward question. Moreover, Britney Spears has been a celebrity for almost two decades, thus it goes without saying that she was asked to be photographed by so many fans (and fellow celebrities) so many times that the majority of them have already become a blur in her memory. Add the fact that 2008 was a pretty big year for her, and it’s fair to say that Britney had many other things on her mind at the time.

And, sure, Swift and Spears also met back in 2003, but that doesn’t really count because Taylor wasn’t even popular back then.

So that should put Britney Spears in the clear. Leave Britney alone.

As for her upcoming ninth studio album, Spears is now in the process of putting the final touches on the record. In her interview with Australian radio 2Day FM, the “Hit Me Baby One More Time” singer talked about the numerous inspirations for her new album, as reported by Digital Spy.

“There’s a few things I touch upon,” Britney said. “Intimacy and love and being a hopeless romantic. There are a lot of girl anthems.”

“Actually, the video I just shot is of me and all my girls making guys audition for us. The whole theme is basically us playing with them. It’s really kind of fun.”

Asked if she’s a hopeless romantic, Spears said, “Unfortunately I am. I’ve been through horrible relationships, but unfortunately I still believe in love.”

“I think you should protect your heart, so yeah, I’m a hopeless romantic,” she added.

Spears continued, saying that the album’s main themes include sisterhood and female empowerment.

“I love my father, but I was always a momma’s girl growing up,” she added.”There’s always something with me when I’m with my girls or my mom – there’s just a strong connection there.”

Fans of Britney Spears as a Las Vegas resident at Planet Hollywood have many good reasons to celebrate, as the songstress revealed that she’ll be adding two new songs to the show.

“I go back in two weeks and I’m going to put two new songs into the show, which is going to be exciting to change things up a little bit,” Spears said.

“The new album is coming to the table soon, so that’ll shake things up,” she assured fans.
