‘Suits’ Season 6 Spoilers: Mike And Rachel On The Rocks?

Are Mike and Rachel on the rocks in Suits Season 6? It would be easy to guess that considering Mike’s current barred situation, but what does the actor who plays the character think?

Patrick J. Adams shared his views on the couple, and whether there is any coming back for them after calling their wedding off. It turns out that he believes the two are “stronger than ever” in Suits, and that is really all because they are spending so much time apart. Despite calling their wedding off, they want to be back with each other. That is the part that makes them strong because of the trust and faith in one another.

Suits Season 6 has a very different feel to it already. Mike is now stuck behind bars after pleading guilty, and Pearson Specter Litt is facing lawsuits from numerous clients because their cases were handled by Mike. Fans will remember that the series started because Mike was given a job as an associate lawyer at the firm by Harvey Specter, despite never sitting the bar. His photographic memory impressed Harvey enough to make him consider committing fraud.

Showrunner Aaron Korsh has said that there wouldn’t be a time jump between Suits Season 5 and Season 6. Fans would get to see Mike’s time in prison, and how he was going to get himself out of the situation. It turns out that it is not going to be so easy, and he may spend two years behind bars. That doesn’t mean he will definitely be there for two seasons, suggesting a time jump may come in the future.

Another option is that Mike gets the opportunity to take a reduced sentence deal. This will come up in the latest episode Turn, which airs on Wednesday, August 3. The trailer shows that Harvey has a way out for him, but there will be a catch that involves not seeing Rachel again and betraying a trusted inmate. Mike always sticks by his word, so it will be interesting to see this episode play out. Harvey is focused on saving Mike’s life, which hangs in the balance at the end of the trailer.

While Mike is in prison, it means more focus can be spent on growing Rachel’s character. This is a chance for her to do something that doesn’t always involve Mike. Despite this, there is a push for her to get back to him, just like there is one for Mike. Adams says that all Mike is focusing on is getting back to Rachel, and it makes his love for her stronger.

One of the ways Rachel is benefitting is through her career decisions. In the next episode, she decides to represent a client on death-row. Is this because of Mike’s current situation, or does she deeply believe in the inmate’s innocence?

It appears the two characters won’t see each other in Suits yet. Design & Trend reports that they will be reunited soon, but there haven’t been any scenes with Adams and Meghan Markel together. Adams says that he has only filmed scenes with Gabriel Macht, who plays Harvey, so far. He knows he will be reunited with the rest of the cast soon, and certainly misses them all. It has been fun, though, as he feels like he has a new show right now.

What do you think will happen in the upcoming episode? Will Mike take a deal to reduce his prison sentence, or will he prefer to see the two years out? Catch all new Suits Season 6 on USA on Wednesdays to find out.
